FALCONS RUN PAST TRITON 105-49 SATURDAY The John Glenn Falcons ran to an overwhelming 105-49 victory over the Triton Trojans Saturday night as they returned home after three straight road games. The victory, not only a Northern State Conference win, was also the 150th victory for coach Gordon Mosson in his varsity coaching career at John Glenn. The win boosted the Falcons to 7-2 overall and upped their Northern State Conference record to 3-0 with a key battle coming up this Friday night at Knox. The game was never in doubt.

With six players sharing the scoring in the first period, the Falcons jumped to a 25-10 lead and boosted this to a 52-24 lead at the halftime intermission. The Falcons had 23 baskets in the first half, including three three-pointers which is as many as is often scored in a complete game. Kevin Stedman and B. J. Walls, the senior starters for coach Mosson. each were in double figures at halftime. Stedman having 12 points on six baskets and Walls 10 on four baskets including two from outside the three-point arc. Coach Mosson let the starters play the third period after they had been relieved briefly in the second quarter and they extended the rout to an 85-33 count after three. From here on out, the bench took over, but hardlv missed a beat as they

scored 20 last quarter points to turn the board into triple figures and set the final score of 105-49. This included a dozen successful free throws in 21 attempts in this final quarter with Brian Perry leading the way with nine points. For the game, Stedman led four Falcons in double figures with 23 points. Walls had 20, Groves 15 and Kincaid 10 as all 10 boys scored in the contest. Triton was led by J. Westhafer with 19 and Hayward with 10 as the Trojans have only won once this season. At Knox Friday Night The Falcons will have a key conference game Friday night at Knox against the high scoring Redskins. Knox, however, had their perfect record spoiled twice over the weekend as first La Ville silenced them in a NSC game and on Saturday the Plymouth team defeated them in a free scoring contest. B-Team tipoff is set for 6:30 p.m. On Saturday, the Falcons will travel to Nappanee to battle North Wood, a winner only twice this year and a team that has been struggling for quite a few years now. set for a 6:30 B-Team start. Then on Tuesday night the Falcons will meet the LaVilie Lancers in the opening game of the BiCounty tourney as these two teams are the only tourney teams with winning records. The other threat appears to be Bremen, who is also in the same bracket leaving the other five teams with a combined total of five wins, four of these teams making up the bottom bracket. It is too bad for the balance of the tourney that drawings have to pair the contestants such as this, but that is fate and the favored Falcons and next rated Lancers will find one team moving forward and the other watching from the sidelines after the first 32 minutes of action of the tourney. UNITED TELEPHONE NOTES COMPUTER CAMPAIGNS United Telephone of Indiana is asking its customers to be aware that when they answer their telephones and do not immediately hear another voice, they may be receiving a computer-generated solicitation call that will eventually connect them to a live sales representative. Persons receiving such calls should not immediately regard the call as indicative of a problem with their telephones or as a harassing phone call. Many companies are utilizing computer equipment for promotional means that automatically calls residential telephone customers, then connects the person who answers the call to a live sales representative. Sometimes there is a delay after the person answers the telephone as the computer identifies the voice response as a completed call and transfers the call to a sales representative. United Telephone has no control over the companies utilizing such systems, but notes that such calls are becoming more frequent for many of its customers.
