Dear Betty Crocker Qneotfea: Can I freeze pancake batter? N 0., Kenton, OH Aaswert Pancake batter won’t freeze successfully Baking powder loses its levenmg power and the thawed batter won’t puff and bake nicely. It’s better to mix dry ingredients first, flour, baking powder and salt, and then add eggs and milk just before frying pancakes. QwMtfea: What’s the best way to serve cheese for a party? A.T., r Provo, UT Answeri Natural, unprocessed cheeses have been aged to develop their flavor. You’ll enjoy the full flavor most if the cheese sits at room temperature for 30 to 60 minutes before serving. Soft, unripened cheeses are an exception: Serve cottage cheese or cream cheese chilled Qaaotiant When a recipe calls for toasted slivered almonds, bow shall 1 toast the almonds: H.S., Oneida, NY Answer: Sprinkle cup nuts in 1 ungreased heavy skillet.
