LAPORTE HOSPITAL SCHOLARSHIPLOAN PROGRAM Applications are now being accepted for the LaPorte Hospital Scholarship/Loan program. Applicants must be residents of the LaPorte Hospital service area and must pursuing health care careers. The types of scholarships available are: LaPorte Hospital Auxiliary awards S3OO for first year study and SSOO for renewal awards (2nd year students). LaPorte Hospital Foundation Rumely Memorial Scholarship awards SI,OOO or full tuition if less than SI,OOO. Restrictions: Students must have completed first half of their academic program requirements. Students will accept one year of employment of LaPorte Hospital upon graduation or repay as a loan. LaPorte Hospital Scholarships are awarded to students preparing for critical shortage areas such as nusing (baccalaurate degree or higher), physical therepy, occupational therapy, (COTA) certified occupational thereapy assistant, and baccalaurreate degree in medical technology (ASCP) and respiratory thereapy. Cooking Corner ' jhßf aS Ahi Lemon Pineapple Chicken 1 large Dole Fresh Pineapple 1 tablespoon vegetable oil 2 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves Pepper to taste 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon thyme, crumbled 2 tablespoons flour 1/2 cup water or pineapple juice 1 tablespoon lemon juice 3/4 teaspoon chicken bouillon crystals •Twist crown from pineapple. Cut pineapple lengthwise in half. Cut fruit from shells with a knife. Refrigerate half for later use. Cut pineapple crosswise into 6 slices. •Lightly saute sliced pineapple in oil. Remove from skillet. •Pound chicken to 1/2 inch thickness. Cut each breast in half. Sprinkle with pepper and thyme. Coat with flour. Brown in pan juices. Cover, simmer 1 to 2 minutes until done. •Arrange chicken on serving plate with pineapple. •Add remaining ingredients to skillet. Boil until reduced by half. Spoon sauce over chicken and pineapple. •Serves 2.
