NORTH LIBERTY NEWS By Gladys Sheneman Roger and Marge Kronk. Ted and Sandy Kronk. Calvin and Gara Mae Kronk motored to Door, Michigan Sunday where they were dinner guests of Dave and Debbie Rose and daughters Katie and Emily. The occasion was to help Katie celebrate her 7th birthday. Just a reminder that Sunday. October 20, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., the North Liberty Church of the Brethren invites you to a Farewell Open House for Larry and Cathy Dentler and family in the fellowship hall. Lola Pavey attended a birthday dinner on Sunday at the home of Adam and Sherry Mann, in Bremen, in honor of their son, Perry, who was celebrating his 21st birthday. Others present were his friend, Carrie Nelson, Mr. and Mrs. Adam Mann, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Jack Norris and the Woolet grandchildren. Our sympathy this week goes to the Mary Springman family. She was 81 and had been a resident at Miller's Merry Manor for the past three years. I well remember Mary, as 1 used to be in her bunco club many years ago. It was an enjoyable day Sunday for 19 senior citizens of the Church of Christ, who enjoyed dinner at The Country Inn, in the country way down south, near Leiters Ford. On the way home, they took a ride around Bruce Lake and enjoyed the beautiful color of the trees down and back to good old North Liberty. Congratulations and best wishes goes to Glen and Louise Zellers, of Redwood Road, as they celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary on Monday, October 14. Maxine Whitney, of Warsaw.

Saturday morning they drove through Potato Creek State Park, where they admired all the beautiful color of the trees, after which they ate dinner at Al’s Diner at Koontz Lake. Then they visited the Keepsake Mall across the street and were amazed to see all the beautiful unique items from the 1800 and 1900’s. Take time and drop in when you are down that way, as you might find just what you have been looking for, an unusual gift for a special someone. They then visited Mable Zehner who lives at the lake. Her sister-in-law, Florence Harvey, of Plymouth, also called. A large crowd attended the talent night program on Sunday evening at the Church of Christ, with Tom Fair heading the program. Are, Missouri, are here visiting Dr. and Mrs. Ben Walbert and Bob and Judy Ellis, of Crumstown. Flora Hough returned home Saturday evening after spending two days with her nephew, Fred and Colleen Schroder, of LaPorte. They toured all around Mill Creek, Stillwell and places where Flora used to live and then enjoyed dinner at the Big Wheel in Valparaiso on Friday. On Saturday they went sightseeing again and enjoyed the beauty of the countryside and ate at the Canto Chinese Place in South Bend before bringing her back home that evening. Calvin and Gara Mae Kronk were very surprised Saturday evening about five o'clock when their Secret Sweethearts for the past year, at the Church of Christ, arrived to take them otft to eat since they couldn’t be with them Wednesday evening at the Church when they had the Sweetheart Banquet and revealed all the Sweethearts. They had no idea that Dan and Jean Kaser were theirs, so they thought they were going to a restaurant in town but ended up at Kaser’s new home where Jean had prepared a lovely dinner for them. They had a very enjoyable time together and will always remember the lovely gifts they received during the year.
