Tom and Barb Vir and Carence Sue and Kenny Elanine and George Dori and Dick Pat and John SENIOR CITIZENS BOWLING NEWS The Senior Citizens bowling group kicked off their season at the Walkerton Shad} Lanes this last Wednesday afternoon, with 30 participants attending Promptly at 2:00 p.m., the pins egan to fall as each senior “rolled ' for his or her average and handicap. As the season progresses they can monitor their progress as their average and handicap changes. High scratch game for the ladies was Stephanie Kilarski’s 156, closely followed by Merle Bruesch with a 154 game. Bruesch's 438 series topped Kilarski’s 409 total. The gents saw Harold Schweder still in good form, rolling the high scratch game of 205, followed by Bud Weinman’s 177 game. High series was Schweder’s 516 with Dave Lind taking second place with a 465 series. With 10 positions still open, there is plenty of spots for more active seniors to come enjoy an afternoon of fun, exercise and good friendly competition. Remember, the seniors bowl each Wednesday afternoon, starting at 2:00 p.m. at the Walkerton Shady Lanes. Schwartz Family To Appear In Concert The Schwartz Family is a gospel singing group based in Sturgis, Michigan. The group consists of I Merlin, his wife Sandy, and their 1 four children. Merlin has been singing gospel music for many years and was one of the original 1 members of the “Schwa, iz Bros.” gospel group, who were also from Sturgis. He also sang tenor at one time for the “Crossroads Quartet”, from Nappanee Merlin and S*..oy have two sons who are 14 and 15 years old and have both written songs the group sings. The boys, along with Merlin, are the musicians. Their I daughters, a^ s 10 and 11, add ' their vocals to • number of the songs, which contributes to the distinctive “family” sound the group has. They will appear in concert at the Lakeville Christian Church, on r Sunday evening, September 29, at 6:00 p.m. The public is welcome and a free will offering will be taken.
