It was a beautiful afternoon and a delicious lunch was catered from Bob's Country Store serving about 35 guests. Then on Wednesday evening, Gerry, Andrea and family were guests of the Whartons for dinner also attending were Karen and Joe Medlin, of North Liberty, daughter and son-in-law of the Whartons. Sorry to have to tell you but Labor Day weekend is coming up fast. Sunday, Sept. Ist, the Church of Christ will have the last 8:30 a.m. morning worship service for the campers at Peppermint Hill in Potato Creek State Park. Some of our North Liberty friends who now make their home in Florida the year around had a bis time the other day when Ruth Bauman baked a lovely cake for Evelyn Newcomer who will celebrate her birthday on the 29th and of course, Ruth celebrated her birthday on the 10th and Robert and Rozella Deitrich celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary on August 16. So they all went out for dinner and then all went back to the Bauman's and enjoyed Ruth’s cake and ice cream. All your friends in North Liberty wish you all a very happy 1991 in the days ahead. Also happy to report that Bob and Rosezella are grandparents again as their daughter, Linda and her husband, Joseph Ragazzino, are the proud parents of a baby girl, FORRENT NORTH LIBERTY COMMUNITY CENTER AIR CONDITIONED Renting For All Occasions 300 S. Emily Rose, born on Aug. 15. They live in Indianapolis. Congratulations to all of you. Stanley and Verda Karn celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday afternoon at the Tyner Lodge Hall. So congratulations and best wishes from all your many friends. Mrs. Paul (Edna) Olinger! of Columbus, Geogia, and Paulette (Olinger) McConnell, of Edwardsburg, Michigan was in North Liberty last Wednesday visiting relatives and friends. Last Tuesday afternoon, Mary Joe Golubski, activity director of Miller's Merry Manor and Myrna Stull, van driver, brought the following residents from the home to Craft’s Ice Cream Parlor where they all enjoyed ice cream sodas while Gladys Sheneman played the old time piano. Others present were Jamie Sheeley, Vera Klinedinst, Virginia Timm, Shirley Shaw, Gladys Wilkerson and Martha Shaw. After they finished their sodas they had a sing-along. I received a note from Faith Snodgrass, of South Bend, this week stating that she was the one who wrote in to the Senior Life Magazine to let me know how to whiten my piano keys that were yellowing. She said to take cow’s milk, not homogenized, so my good neighbor, John Dooms brought me some sweet com and a little cup of milk right from the cow and you know, it really worked. So I owe John and Faith a vote of thanks, because I had tried so many different things and nothing took the yellow away.
