St. Patrick 4th graders wasted little time getting down to business Tuesday morning after arriving for the first day of school. Walkerton Josephine and Gaude Nowakowski will serve as hosts for the Koontz Lake Conservation Gub dinner meeting on Saturday night. Saturday evening De Wayne and Mary Alice Pavey hosted a cook out with Mr. and Mrs. Tom Ball, of Logansport; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Golubski and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Urbin present. Luncheon guests of Miss Ethel Bierly, on Friday noon, were Miss Helen Conrad and Mrs. Grace Shutter, of North Judson. The ladies from North Judson brought in the lunch to Ethel’s home. are all life-long friends as they met in 1958 when Ethel began teaching at North Judson and they have continued corresponding over the years. ENJOY REUNION The Schneckenberger reunion was held at the home of Harold and Lola Schrader, at Koontz Lake, on Saturday, August 17 with 70 present. Family members came from Valparaiso, Rolling Prairie, Lakeville, Whiting, Walkerton, Des Plains and Elk Grove, Illinois. The minutes were read and we welcomed two newcomers, Mark and Mike Hoffert, twin sons of Ted and Karen Hoffert. One death was reported that of Goldie Barker. A lot of good food was enjoyed. Norman and Dee and boys surprised Hazel and Mayotte Arseneau, of Walkerton, with a belated 65th wedding anniversary cake with their picture on it. This is what is known as a computer cake and it sure was a pleasant surprise. Games were played for the grown-ups and children and to top the day off, Harold took everyone for a pontoon ride. They will meet next year in Valparaiso on the second Saturday in August. Dorothy Schner is president for next year.
