BIBLE SCHOOL JUNE 24-28 “Share God’s Blessings” is the theme for the Vacation Bible School sponsored by North Liberty United Methodist Church and St. John’s Lutheran Church. It will be June 24-28, from 9:00-11:30 a.m. at North Liberty United Methodist. Classes will be available for Nursery through 6th grade. The lessons focus on Christian discipleship and the blessing of God’s grace in people's lives. The daily stories include “The Annunciation,” Luke 1: 26-56; “Calling the First Disciples,” Luke 5: 1-11; “Forgiveness," Mathew 18: 21-35; “Dorcas and Peter," Acts 9: 36-43; and “Children Blessed,” Mark 10: 13-16. An offering will be received each morning during opening worship.

It will go to the Community Churches Child Care (Latch-key) Program held during the school year. Teachers for the Nursery class are Betty Peddycord and Mary Lou Nichols; Bonnie Salyer is teaching Kindergarten; Ann Camblin, Ist and 2nd grade; Sharon Gumz and Jayne Parker have 3rd and 4th grade; and Carol Pauluhn, sth and 6th grade. Ann Camblin and Carol Pauluhn are coordinators for the VBS. Pastor of North Liberty U.M. is James Stansell, and Bert Pauluhn is St. John’s pastor. Any child from the community is welcome to attend Bible School. Parents are asked to call the U.M. Church office, 656-3132, or St. John’s Church office, 656-4744, to enroll children. A TOTAL OF $80,265 GIVEN AT J.G.H.S. Awards, scholarships and grants totaling approximately $80,265 were presented to many deserving students at John Glenn High School’s annual Academic Awards night on May 15th. variety of scholarships and awards were presented. Local organizations supported 30 scholarships and approximately nine students received presidential, honors or alumni type scholarships from four year colleges, two year colleges and vocational schools. This year’s Hoosier Scholars are Byron Craft and Jim Houser. A recently developed scholarship fund, the John Glenn Scholarship, awarded SI,OOO each to three recipients: Laurie Dudley (will attend Indiana State University), June Martin (will attend IUSB), and Aaron VanWechel (will attend Butler University). For organizations and anyone else interested in contributing to the John Glenn Scholarship fund, please contact Mike Shuler at the high school. New committee members for the scholarship are welcome. VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL The Walkerton United Methodist Church is having their Vacation Bible School June 17-21 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the church for all children in the community ages 3 through 6th grade.
