Tuesday's program was chaired by Ervin Stuntz. Ervin has had so many exciting things happen in his lifetime and he always shares some of them with us. He is an excellent speaker and we always enjoy hearing from him. We all enjoyed Wednesday's program which was highlighted by Maxine Worthington, Violet Wolff, Gladys Sheneman and Mrs. Platz. These talented ladies can sure make the music sing and we hope they will entertain again soon. Virgil Gwin chaired for us on Thursday. Virgil is an avid reader and always as som^ interesting articles to share with us. Verice Walz played the piano for us on Friday for our sing-a-long. Our two talented songbirds, Fred and Millie Daniels, led us with their duets and we all joined in singing other songs, our kind of music. On the hospital list is Caroline Danielewski and Woody and Ellen Cochran are residents of Miller's Merry Manor. We wish all of them a speedy recovery. U.S 6 TO BE CLOSED FOR CROSSING REPAIRS The Indiana Department of Transportation will close a section of U.S. 6in LaPorte County. Beginning Monday, June 10, that stretch of highway from its intersection with S.R. 39 to the north Junction of U.S. 35 will be closed to traffic. The purpose of this closure is for the Grand Trunk Western Railroad to work on their crossing located approximately 1.4 miles east of S.R. 39. During this closure, traffic will be detoured across S.R. 39, S.R. 2 and U.S. 35. Work is expected to be completed and the road reopened by June 14. Until then, motorists should be aware that this rerouting adds 11 miles driving distance.
