Scott Hostetler, sth and 6th girls basketball and boys and girls intramurals, Walkerton Elementary School A motion was made by Dave Hostetler, seconded by Gene Knowlton, to accept the resignation of Scott Hostetler as sth and 6th grade girls basketall coach and boys and girls intramurals coach at Walkerton Elementary School. The vote was seven/zero. 2. Insurance Coverage of All Students Including Student Athletes Dr. Murray noted to the Board that she, along with corporation principals, were reviewing the current insurance coverage for students and student athletes. She said that she had received concerns from patrons concerning this matter and that a review was being conducted at this time. Dr. Murray said that following this review that she, along with building principals, would come to the Board with a recommendation for next year’s policies. 3. Transfer Request Applications a. William Palmer Snyder, Jr., K b. Michelle Malicki, K A motion was made by Dave Hostetler and seconded by Dan Patrick to accept the transfer requests for William Palmer Snyder, Jr. and Michelle Malicki. The vote was seven/zero. 4. Textbook Adoption Teacher Dick Kickbush, coordinator for textbook adoption, noted to the Board that those textbooks selected by the Textbook Adoption Committee were on display during the meeting. Mr. Kickbush reviewed that process to the Board. That process included a selection commit-

School caldenar A motion was made by Don Ludwig and seconded by Mary Kay Stedman to adopt the school calendar for the 1991-92 school year as corrected. The vote was seven/zero. 6. Superintendent’s Report a. Summer Project Renovation JGHS/NLES Dr. Murray that such was continuing. b. School Insurance Dr. Murray reported that she had a local insurance agent write up specifications for the school insurance and that she had contacted area superintendents as well as the Indiana School Boards Association. It was recommended to her that insurance be quoted rather than bid. Dr. Murary indicated that those insurance specifications had been mailed to three agencies in the area, one in Plymouth, one at Koontz Lake and one in the Walkerton area. Dr. Murray reported that she would be receiving those quotes prior to the next Board meeting and would have a recommendation to the Board at that time. c. Other Dr. Murray indicated that she had the Quick Claim Deed for the North Liberty property and that she needed a motion to authorize the president to execute that deed. A motion was malie by Don Ludwig and seconded by Mary Kay Stedman to authorize the president to execute the deed for the sale of the North Liberty property to the area church. The vote was seven/zero. A motion was made by Dave Hostetler and seconded by Don Ludwig to approve and execute an easement for access to the property that was sold to the church at North Liberty. The vote was seven/ zero. Building principal Mike Shuler noted that the Spring Spectacular

would be held on May 10-11 and that they were looking forward to an excellent performance as in the past. NEXT BOARD MEETINGS The next meeting dates were set for a special session on May 9, 1991 at John Glenn High School, 6:30 p.m., to hold a personnel hearing, followed by an executive session for the purpose of receiving information about and interviewing prospective employees. The Board will meet in regular session on May 21 at 7:30 p.m. at John Glenn High School, followed by an executive session for the purpose of receiving information about and interviewing prospective employees. The Board will also meet in executive session on May 23, 1991, 7:00 p.m. at John Glenn High School to receive information about and interview prospective employees. ADJOURNMENT A motion was made by Gene Knowlton and seconded by Jean Ann Beem to adjourn the meeting at 9:18 p.m. The vote was seven/zero. EXECUTIVE SESSION Immediately following the regular session, the Board met in executive session for the purpose of discussing job performance evaluation of individual employees. No other matters were discussed. Pairitz gave information about handing in value check books or money. Jacinda Pairitz spoke about the Junior Leaders Chicken Barbecue dinner on June 14 at the St. Joe County 4-H Fairgrounds. Mrs. Butler gave information on how to put together a winning poster project. The meeting was adjourned at 7:20. After adjournment, members met with their leaders and refreshments were served. Angel LOCAL WOMAN GRADUATES FROM COLLEGE Karen Henigsmith, daughter of Ronald and Bonnie Henigsmith of Walkerton, graduated from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College during ceremonies held on May 5. Henigsmith, a graduate of Oregon-Davis High School received a bachelor of science degree in special education. Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College is the oldest Catholic liberal arts college for women in the United States.
