them celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday, April 21, at the Community Building. Relatives and friends came from everywhere to help them celebrate and see their family once again. The building was beautifully decorated and a table of food had been prepared for all to enjoy along with beautiful decorated yellow and gold anniversary cake, punch, nuts and mints. One nice thing the children all wore name tags to help identify them, which was really a big help as there are nine children. They received many lovely cards and gifts and will always remember their 50th anniversary. Associate minister Tim Stewart, of the Church of Christ, and seven

teenagers, spent three days at Ozark Christian College, Joplin, Missouri, where they attended the Deeper Life Crusade. There were around 900 teenagers from all over who attended. The theme was centered around The Family Life. The Chester Edison family had a wonderful day Sunday at the Greene Township Lions Clubhouse when about 200 relatives and friends came to help them celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. Their five children hosted the event. It turned out to be a rainy cold weekend for all the Earth Day celebrations, but many worked and cleaned and set out trees.

Ruth Finch brought me this article out of an old newspaper dated March 5, 1894. It stated the North Liberty Mfg. Co. have attached a saw mill to their shop thus furnishing them greater facilities for doing work than heretofore. I wonder if this company was located on Pierce Road across from Warren Houser’s property or if their place was at some other location. Please let me know if you have any information. I just received word that another one of our North Liberty residents, Vera Williams, 85, passed away on Sunday at Miller’s Merry Manor. A lot of North Liberty area people attended the Fish Fry in Tyner Saturday evening at the Fire Station put on by the Lodge. They served over 1,700 so that was great and the fish dinner was delicious. Ethel Rauen spent a few days this past week with Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Rauen, in Wanatah, and also visited other relatives while there. Howard Loucks still remains very ill in Memorial Hospital, so please remember him and Helen at this time. The Over The Hill Gang met at the Church of Christ Family Center last Thursday noon, where all en-

joyed a delicious pot luck dinner together. They were entertained afterward by Maxine Worthington, Violet Wolff, Gerald Kaufman and Gladys Sheneman. It was a fun hour with many participating during the program. Sorry to report that Edith Wood had the misfortune of falling and breaking her hip this past week and to think she was ready to return to her home. So remember her as she is in Memorial Hospital, Room 825. Have you been in the Drug Store since they have added an old fashioned piano in the snack bar? Do drop in and have a cup of coffee and you might just hear me playing some of those good old fashioned tunes. Bill and Shirley Limerick returned home this week, after spending the winter in Florida. Kari Williams, of Flossmore, Illinois, spent the week with her parents Travis and Joan Holmes. North Liberty has lost another older resident, namely Jessie Brantley, 87. Our sympathy goes to her daughter, Reva Dankert and family, of Walkerton. Betty McCormick and daughters, Joan Garber, of Normal, Illinois;
