WALKERTON WOMEN’S AGLOW IS MOVING TO SATURDAYS Walkerton Women's Aglow will meet Saturday, April 20, in the Community Building. This month’s speaker will be Diana Radabaugh, from Elkhart. Diana's “Because He Lives" ministries has recently started a television program called "Miracles" which airs on Channel 10. in Fort Wayne. DAY OF INSPIRATION The United Methodist Women Day of Inspiration will be held on Wednesday, April 24, at Maple Grove United Methodist Church, 1 mile west of 31 South at flashing light or 20019 New Road, corner of New and Maple Roads, North Liberty. Speaker for the day will be Sara Webb Phillips. There will be one session only from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with lunch served at a cost of 14.50 and registration fee of 50 cents making a total of $5.00.

BMV COMMISSION POSTS MANAGER POSITION AT WALKERTON OFFICE Applications are currently being accepted for the manager position at the Walkerton License branch office located at 302 Roosevelt Road, Walkerton, Indiana. Branch #lßl is a state-operated license branch office under the direction of the Bureau of Motor Vehicles Commission. Employees of the Commission have benefits equal to employees of the state, which give them health and life insurance, paid vacation, holiday and sick days as well as a medical plan and retirement package. Applicants with previous management experience and/or a knowledge of branch operations must sumit an application to the Commission by April 18, 1991. Applications are available at the license branch office, and should be returned to Room 401, State Office Building, Indianapolis, Indiana 46204, Attention: William H. Stinson. Deputy Commissioner, Personnel. Applicants will be contacted to schedule interviews in Indianapolis. BENEFIT FOR GAYLENE HAINES AND FAMILY Friends and co-workers of Gaylene Haines are staging a benefit in her behalf April 20 at Ancilla Domini. On March 28, Gaylene's husband Keith was killed in a railroad crossing accident on Queen Rd.. Plymouth. The children, who attend West School, include Nicole, age 11, Samantha, 9 and Edward. 7. The daylong benefit includes a
public auction wmcn win oegin at 10:00 a.m. and continue to 2:00 p.m. or until all items are sold. Food and beverage concessions will be open during the sale. The auction will take place in the Ancilla Convent garage. "We would appreciate donations to the auction. Anyone wishing to do so, are asked to call 936-9936 regarding directions to Ancilla. If you need to have larger items picked up, please call the same number and we will make arrangements with you,’’ stated Ken Barenie, one of the coordinators of the benefit. An evening of entertainment in the Ancilla Convent Auditorium will begin at 7:00 p.m. and continue until 10:00. During that time, Doug Church, an Elvis impersonator, will give three performances and an ongoing raffle will take place. Raffle items donated by local merchants and businesses include services as well as household merchandise. Food and beverages will also be available. She introduced Lester Fox, Chief Executive Officer of REAL Services; Jay Conway, area Nutrition Director; Alice Adkerman, Deputy Area Director; and Grace Shawn. Past County Coordinator. Rev. James Stansell, of the North Liberty United Methodist Church, gave the dinner invocation. Madelyn Nelson and Charles Myers provided piano and banjo music before dinner and immediately following. After dinner cake, ice cream and punch was served to the group. The Nutrition Site opened on April 15, 1976 and moved to the North Liberty United Methodist Church on January 13, 1982. Two original members, Thelma Peddycord and Lucile Lutz were presented flowers. They are both volunteers and have been very faithful through these 15 years. All other volunteers were then introduced and were thanked for all they do at the site. Several others were recognized for all they did in preparation for the celebration. A big thank you was given to all the participants who come each day and keep the site going. Our hope is to keep growing and to keep having the good times together each day.
