Local Festival Celebrates 25th Anniversary The Walkerton Epsilon Chi and North Liberty Zeta Pi Chapters of Tri Kappa are proud to present the 25th Annual Fine Arts and Crafts Festival to be held this Sunday. April 14. It will be held in the John Glenn High School dining commons from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Fine Arts and Crafts Festival features work from nearly all students in the John Glenn School Corporation (including St. Patrick Elementary School) and encourages adult participation as well. Students may bring in work completed at home to be entered into the show as long as the rules are followed. The art is displayed on kiosks, large free standing structures, around the room. Ribbons are awarded for the “Best of Show” and “Most Popular,” along with first, second and third place ribbons for each grade level K-8, high school and adult categories. It has been customary to invite a guest artist to the show to display his/her professional works. This is always a highlight of the day, to speak to and enjoy the talent of the guest artist. This year in celebration of the 25th Anniversary, art scholarship winners who, under the tutelage of art director John Thomas, were recognized for their skill will be featured. Their work will be on display, along with a biography highlighting their education and career. Some of these former students will also be present at various times during the day. For your enjoyment musical entertainment will be featured throughout the festival. St. Patrick Elementary School will perform as well as the Swing Choir and Jazz Band from John Glenn High School. Individuals will also take part in the entertainment. Make your plans now to attend the 25th Anniversary Celebration of the Fine Arts and Crafts Festival. You will be amazed at the talent that is abundant at John Glenn High School that day!
