The future bride is a 1981 graduate of John Glenn High School and a 1985 graduate of Indiana University. She has been employed in retail management with L.S. Ayres for six years. The future groom is a 1982 graduate of Penn High School. After graduating from Franklin College in 1986, he is now employed by the State Welfare Dept., in Indianapolis. BIRTHS Scott and Christine Verkier, of Walkerton, are the parents of a baby girl, Jessica Ann, bom on Friday, March 22, at 7:56 p.m. Grandparents are Mrs. J. Richard Verkier, of Walkerton and Mr. and Mrs. William Jones, of North Liberty. Randy and Donna Litteral, of North Liberty, are the proud parents of a daughter, born on Tuesday, March 19. She has been named Katie Sue. she weighed six pounds and 12 ounces and was 20 inches long. Grandparents are Sue Litteral, of North Liberty and Ronald Laßere and Marilyn Brantley, both of Walkerton. Greatgrandparents are Francis and Virginia Laßere, of Walkerton, and Agnus Seiders, of North Liberty. Katie has a big sister, Elizabeth, at home. Walkerton Guests of Vi and Richard Masterman for a week were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Shultz, of Chesterfield, Missouri; Stacy and Chris Shultz and Chris Dodson, of Springfield, Missouri; Mr. and Mrs. Mark Shultz and Sarah, of Phoenix, Arizona and Mr. and Mrs. Matt Millekan and Chelsea, of Wichita, Kansas. birthday. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Schultz and sons, Jeff and Westley, of Covington, Tennessee, were here on Good Friday afternoon visiting Bill’s mother, Hazel Ward, and Richard Ward. Hazel is a resident of Miller s Merry Manor of Plymouth. They also visited Bill’s daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Brent (Winnie) Kaser and grandson. Michael, and Mr. Aaron Egger, returning to Tennessee on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Gail Whitaker were very surprised on Easter Sunday when their children and grandchildren, Mrs. Erma Northam, of Gurnee, 111., Mrs. Carol Chapman and Dennis Sult, of Walkerton, Mr. and Mrs. Doug Biddel, of Knox and Miss Susan Owens, of Culver, brought a carryin dinner to celebrate both Easter and the Whitakers 56th wedding anniversary. Myrl Dixon reported for the flower committee which also included sympathy cards sent to Helen Verkier and Norine Divine, it was reported that Ruth Ullery is now home after four days in ICU at Memorial Hospital. Wanda Pontius announced nominees for 1991-92 officers to include Becky Reed, president; Alice Walker, vice-president; Marty Malstaff, secretary and Sue DeMien, treasurer. Election will be in April. "Woman of the Year” will be voted on in April and awarded at the May meeting. Scholarship applications for $250.00 are being placed at Oregon-Davis and John Glenn High School. Birthdays of Betty King and Bonnie Sullivan were honored with Mrs. King winning the prize. Barb Burket conducted a raffle that was won by Carol Aitken, Eleanor Ludwig and Florence Erickson.
