cards and remembrances from my hometown friends as well as from all over the country. Family members from as far away as the state of Washington as well as family and friends from other states. I truly believe the following poem, given to me by one of my dear friends, on my birthday, says it the best of all. GIVE NOW I would rather have one little rose From the garden of a friend Than to have the choicest flowers When my stay on earth must end I would rather have one pleasant word In kindness said to me Than flattery when my heart is still And life has ceased to be 1 would rather have a loving smile From friends 1 know are true Than tears shed 'round my casket When this world I bid adieu Blossoms bring to me today Whether pink or white or red I'd rather have one blossom now Than a truckload when I’m dead. So I am 80 ... . however, my mother-in-law taught me years ago to "Never count your years, Esther, just count your blessings." Again, thanks to all family and friends, I love you all. Esther I.
