two rounds (3U minutes each) of chess. Winning both rounds for Urey was Rusty Young. Winning one round each were Brian Lyle, Al Clark, Josh Cole, Craig Hulse, Scott Bradley, Randy Finney, Jason Pippenger, B.J. Morgan. Nick Medich, and Ryan Schmeltz. Overall. Urey had 12 wins and 4 draws. EIGHTH GRADE GIRLS POST THREE VICTORIES Urey Middle School's eighth grade girl eagers posted a pair of wins by stopping LaPorte Kesling 22-12 Tuesday and LaVille 26-1 7 Thursday. Both contests were played on the local hardwood. The Lady Falcons got off to a very slow start against the Komets as they trailed 4-0 at the first stop. An 8-0 run in the second period helped the locals to an 8-4 lead at the intermission. The Falcons led 16-7 at the start of the final period. Anittah Patrick took game scoring honors with 8 points for the 5-4 Falcons. Renee Fisher contributed 6 tallies, Tracv Legge 4, Jennifer Hoover 2 and Tabatha Higgins 2. Elyse Clingenpeel, Krista Eastbum and Jennifer Dittmar also played well. The locals also captured the reserve gave, downing the Komets 20-15. Dittmar topped the winners with 6 points followed by Higgins with 3. Kelly Kime 3, Jennifer Annis 2, Kim Pinchert 2, Amber Fraiser 2 and Hoover 2. The Falcons rolled to their fourth win in their last five outings to raise their season record to 6-4 with the victory over LaVille. After trailing 5-1 at the end of one period of play, the locals took charge in the second quarter to hold a 9-7 advantage at the half. The Falcons led the Lancers by a narrow 17-14 margin at the third stop. Legge led a fine team defensive effort by the winners. Fisher paced the local attack with 9 points.
