FREE THROW WINNERS Ten boys and girls from Walkerton and North Liberty, ages 10-14, were named local champions of the 1991 Knights of Columbus International Free Thrown Championship and have earned the right to compete next at the regional level. Council 5709 in Walkerton sponsored the local competition at the North Liberty Elementary School. All youngsters from ages 10 to 14 were eligible to participate. Danielle Ludwig was the 10 year old girls champion and Terence Hesters was the boys division winner In the 11 year old bracket of the competition Cassie Walter and Ray Chapman were the winners. In the 12 year old division the winners were Tiffany Hesters and Dale Gross. The 13 year old division was won by Sarah Martin and Dale Groves. 14 year old chapions were Anittah Patrick and Mike Gensinger. Each contestant was allowed 15 free throw attempts in the contest and ties were settled by successive rounds of five free throwns per contestant until a winner emerged. The Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship is sponsored annually by the K of C and consists of competition at the local, district and state level. International champions are determined based on scores at the state competitions. Last year more than 161,000 boys and girls participated in 2.132 local competitions. Local winners will compete in the regional competition. The Knights of Columbus is an international, Catholic, family, fraternal, service organization with nearly 1.5 million members in 9,000 local councils. In 1989 Knights donated 32 million manhours of volunteer time and $92 million to charitable and benevolent causes, sponsoring programs to benefit their church, councils, communities, families and youth. ANNOUNCE HOSPICE BEREAVEMENT GROUP Hospice of St. Joseph County, Inc. has scheduled another "Living With Loss" support group. Meetings will take place on six consecutive Monday afternoons from 1:30 to 3.30 p.m. beginning on February 25. Meetings will take place at Sunnyside Presbyterian Church, 115 South Frances. The focus of the sessions will be to recognize and understand the grief process while stimulating personal growth. Anyone who has
