Comedy returns to the John Glenn stage on Thursday, February--14 and Saturday, February 16 when the John Glenn Drama Cub presents Neil Simon's “Barefoot In The Park." The play deals with a young married couple, Paul and Corie Bratter, and their various acquaintances: a well-meaning mother-in-law, a weary telephone repairwoman, a worldly upstairs neighbor, and an asthmatic deliveryman. The production begins at 7:30 both evenings, and tickets are $2.50 for adults and $2.00 for students. Tickets may be purchased from any cast member or at the door. Wc will also have another block! pressure clinic the last week of February and we’ll have the day and date next week. On Wednesday of last week we were treated to another great musical program presented by Violet Wolff, Maxine Worthington and Mrs. Platz. Their musical renditions were just delightful and we thank these talented ladies who share their love of music. Just heard of another program to be held on February 19th. Charley Myers, Madeline Nelson and Gladys Sheneman will entertain and we're all looking forward to hearing them. We all enjoy music and our regular sing-a-long program on Fridays is one of our favorites. Juice winners for the week were Woody Cochran, Art Cowood, and Eleanore Lemming. Program chairpersons were Hazel and Harold Schweder. Jim Thibodeaux. Verice Walz, and Mildred Smith. We also celebrated the birthday of Mabel Comer with a delicious cake brought in by Verice Walz. SENIOR CITIZEN BOWLING NEWS It may have been mid-winter by the calendar this past week, yet the senior bowlers kept the lanes hot with strikes and spares. Both bowlers and spectators were treated to some good bowling and a couple pick-ups of the 6-"’•10 pm split! Just like on TV! For the ladies, the high scratch game was rolled by Mildred McKesson who posted a 192 game. Merle Bruesch and Esther Devault followed, having 177 and 175 games, respectively. High handicap game was 246 by McKesson. IXvault's 227 just topped June LincLs 222 for second and third placement. High series total was Brueschss 482. followed by Devault’s 455 total. Nice competi-
tion, as the closeness of scoring attests. The gents saw Harold Schweder back “on track" and in good form! His high scratch game of 235 outdistanced Willis McQueary's 197 and Claude Nowakowski's 194 games. Schweder’s 257 high handicap game beat McQueary's 237 and Nowakowski’s 233. High series total was Schweder’s 609, followed by Nowakowski’s 538. It was a day that saw lots of splits. Two gents were able to pick up the 6-7-10 pin split, which is good bowling anytime! The Walkerton Shady Lanes were almost full this last week, with only 5 “slots" open. If you had been there, they would have been full! Come try your bowling skill and enjoy an afternoon of fun and exercise!

FRANK A. DORNEKER Frank A. Domeker, 78, of Route 5, Box 26-B, Walkerton, passed away at 10:00 am., on Saturday, Feb. 2. at the LaPorte Hospital. He was born on Jan. 24, 1913, in Chicago to Anton and Elizabeth (Zoeller) Dorneker. He married Geraldine George on Sept. 27, 1936. in Chicago, who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Eugene, of Chicago, Gerald, of Hudson, Ohio and Michael, of Dyer; a daughter, Janet Minkema, of Sauk Village, Ill.; a sister, Helen Scudella, of Country Club Hills, Ill.; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services were held at 11:00 a.m.. C.S.T., on Wednesday at Com munity Opyt Funeral Home, Riverdale. 111., burial followed at Cedar Park Cemetery. Chicago. The Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel, was in charge of local arrangements. HOWARD W. BUSSIE Howard Wayne Bussie, 66, of 16135 W. 12-B Road, Plymouth, passed away at 7:40 p.m.. on Thursday, Jan. 31, at his home. He was born at Topeka on May 1. 1924, the son of James C. and Oral Bell (Cunningham) Bussie. On Feb. 22, 1944, he married Mary Elizabeth Kostelnik, who survives. He was a salesman for Mishawaka Furniture Corp., retiring in 1987. Also surviving are two daughters, Tracey Lynn Burkholder, of Argos and Pamela Margaret Edison, of Walkerton and a sister, Violet Manvio, of Calif. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, Feb. 9, at Pretty Lake Trinity United Methodist Church, with Rev. Pat Tobin, officiating. There will be no visitation, cremation has taken place. The Johnson Funeral Home, Plymouth, was in charge of the arrangements. He was a World War 11 Navy veteran and a member of the Walkerton American Legion Post. The family asks that memorial contributions be made to Home Health Care, of Plymouth. CHARLES A. GORDON Charles A. Gordon. 50, of 209 S. Maple Street, North Liberty, passed away at 7:00 p.m., on Tuesday. Jan. 29, at his home, after suffering an apparent heart attack. He was bom on April 14. 1940, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident. He married Barbara J. Rauen. on April 27, 1963, in Walkerton, who survives. He was employed by Hiler Foundry. Walkerton. Also surviving are a daughter, Lynnette Freehafer, of North Liberty; a grandson; his parents, Jane and Keith Gordon, of North Liberty and a brother, Robert, of Westerville. Ohio. Services were held at 11:00 a m. on Saturday at A.M. Manuel Funeral Home, North Liberty, with Rev. Charles Richmond, officiating Burial was in Eastlawn Cemetery. North Liberty. He was a veteran of the Navy and a member of the American Legion Post 365 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1954.

STELLA D. DUDY Stella D. Dudy, 73, of Starke County Road 1100 East, Koontz Lake, passed away 11:05 p.m., on Monday, Jan. 29, in Memorial Hospital. South Bend She was born on July 5. 1917, in Chicago, coming to Koontz Lake 20 years ago from Merrillville She married Matthew Dudy on Oct. 25, 1934, in East Chicago, Ind. He preceded her in death on June 24, 1985. Surviving are two sons, Walter, of Merrillville and John, of Dyer and four grandchildren. A son. David, preceded her in death. There will be no services or visitation. Cremation will take place. The Rannells Funeral Home. Koontz Lake Chapel, was in charge of the arrangements. JOHN E. AMOR John E. Amor. b 4. of Route 3, Koontz Lake, passed away at 12:10 p.m., on Wednesday, Jan. 30, at St. Joseph's Medical Center. South Bend. He was bom on Sept. 2, 1926, in Walkerton and lived at Koontz Lake for two years, coming from Chicago. He married Martha Blanchard, on Dec. 19, 1957, in Chicago, who survives. He retired from Wardhoff Printing Co., Chicago. Surviving are two daughters. Linda Carpenter, of South Carolina and Cindy Sue Amor, of Chicago; five sons, Terry A. and Michael W., both of Koontz Lake. David E., of Walkerton, Michael A and Dennis L., both of Chicago; 11 grandchildren; two great-grand-children; three sisters. Mae Heim, of Walkerton, Elsie Wierzbicki, of Chicago and Carol Amor, of LaPorte and a brother, Gordon, of LaPorte. Services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the Nusbaum Elkin Funeral Home. Walkerton with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Walkerton. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean W ar. a member of the American Legion Post 189, Walkerton and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Lavarans. who has been a patient in the hospital, will be also taken to Miller's Merry Manor this week Mildred Bierly is critical in the LaPorte Hospital. Our sympathy this week goes to the Charles Gordon family as he was only 50 years old and died of a heart attack m his sleep on Tuesday night. He is the son of Keith and Jane Gordon and his wife is Barbara Rauen who survives along with a daughter, Lynnette and a grandson. Our sympathy also goes to Mary Bussie, who has been a beauty operator in North Liberty for many years in the loss of her husband, Howard, in Plymouth, this past week. Hope you are all enjoying our wonderful weather the past few days. 1 understand Potato Creek State Park had lots of visitors this weekend Well, its February and won't be long till they will be tapping the maple trees out that way. Tammy Stull entertained her parents, Gene and Norma Patrick. Sunday evening with a dinner for their 29th wedding anniversary which was Sunday. Feb. 3 Others persent were Gladys Sheneman, Chris Holderbaum and Brandon Stull. Dorothy Grenert. of South Bend was a Sunday dinner guest of Lola Pavey. Gladys Sheneman called in the afternoon to see Dorothy as she is a relative. Ross Gardner, of Indianapolis, spent from Thursday til Saturday with his grandmother. Lola Pavey Madelyn Nelson. Charles Myers and Gladys Sheneman will be entertaining Friday, Feb. 8. for the residents of Miller's Merry Manor with an early valentine program You are invited A lot of activity is going on around town this past few beautiful days, as another basement was poured for a new house on Sylvia Drive, a lot of work is being done around Lanes's. The Home Improvement Center in front of the old O'Connor store is now open for business selling cupboards, windows, carpet, and etc and 1 see the flags are flying again Business is looking good in the old drug store, so we need to be proud of the progress being made in our town of North Liberty. HOMEMAKERS MEET The Koontz Lake Extension Homemakers met at the home of Laurie Paschen, on Monday evening with eight members and one guest. Darlene Strykker, present.
