passed away at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, at Memorial Hospital, South Bend, after an illness. He was born on January 19, 1923. On July 19, 1947 he married Dorothy Gente, in Schenectady, New York who preceded him in death on June 11, 1982. He married Betty Baker on January 15, 1983, in Walkerton, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Noreen Blessing, of Chicago and Susan Lamberth, of South Bend; a son, David J., of South Bend; a step daughter, Patricia Holmquist, of Walkerton and a step son, Kenneth Baker, of Cassopolis; two grandchildren, six step-grand-children and a brother, Floyd, of Scotia. New York. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday at the Welsheimer Funeral Home, South Bend. He was a veteran of World War 11, a member of the American Legion Post 189, Walkerton; Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 360, Mishawaka; the American Scientific Glassblowers Society from which he received the Mid-West Section Award in 1981 and the Dana Sampon Award in 1982 and the J. Allen Alexander Award in 1986. He served as the national director of Midwest Section from 1979 to 1981 and chairman of the Technical Question and Answer Committee from 1976 to 1989.
