ORDINANCE NO. 1990-11 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING RATES AND CHARGES FOR THE USE OF AND SERVICES RENDERED BY THE MUNICIPAL WATER UTILITY OF THE TOWN OF WALKERTON, INDIANA. WHEREAS, a review of the rate schedules of the Municipal Water Utility reveals that the Water Utility has not been properly charging for the service; and WHEREAS, it will be necessary to increase residential, commercial, and industrial rates in order to recover the income lost to the utility and to more properly bill the actual costs of service; and WHEREAS, the Town of Walkerton is no longer subject to the regulatory authority of the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF WALKERTON. INDIANA: Section 1. That the rate schedules of the Walkerton Municipal Water Utility are hereby amended to conform with the schedule attached hereto, made a part hereof, and marked Exhibit "A". SCHEDULE OF RATES AND CHARGES TOWN OF WALKERTON, INDIANA WATERWORKS For the use of and the service rendered by the waterworks system of the Town of Walkerton, Indiana, the following rates and charges based upon the amount of water supplied by said waterworks system: a. Section 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. Section 3. This ordinance shall be in force and effect from and after its passage, approval, recording and publication as provided by law. Hiler, Clerk-Treasurer 2td27 RESOLUTION NO. 1990-1 WHEREAS, the Town of Walkerton is authorizing Garbage and Refuse Removal Service and Providing for Collections of Fees and Charges, has established a procedure for determining charges to residents of the Town of Walkerton for trash removal service; and WHEREAS, the Town recently rebid the garbage and refuse removal service for the Town, which bidding resulted in substantially increased costs for such service; and WHEREAS, the Town Council has avoided use of tax funds in rubbish and garbage removal and intends to continue that policy in the belief that those persons receiving the service should pay for it. NOW. THEREFORE. BE IT
RESOLVED, by the Town Council of the Town of Walkerton. Indiana, that the monthly charge assessed residential customers of the electric, water and sewer utilities for garbage and refuse removal shall be. and hereby is, increased to 54.56 per month, to be billed as a part of their monthly utility bill. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the schedule of rates for oddsized items be increased as per Exhibit "A” attached hereto and made a part hereof.
