He wrote it had given them all true hope and brought out the true meaning of Christmas, which is really a time of sharing and giving. He said it has truly reached around the world. Just got a telephone call from Dorothy Roush, in Florida to tell me the North Liberty and Walkerton snow birds will be having their annual get together on Feb. 5. 1991, at the Elks Club this year in Sebring, Florida. Reservations are required. Please plan to come and I will have more news from Florida next week. Please remember Howard Loucks as he is having tests and needs our prayers. Glad to hear everyone else is O.K. and we all wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Barbara Hartman, of the Savoie Apartments, had a few friends in Tuesday evening to say goodbye to Mike and Regina Wozney, who have been living in the apartment next door, as they will be moving to Lakeville soon. Those present were Mike and Regina Wozney: Charles and Jean Byland; Audrey Solmos and Aletha Croy. Mary Black and Opal Murphy, also of the Savoie Apts, were unable to attend. The Wozneys will be greatly missed. 1 received word that Edith (Clark) Holdren, who graduated from Tyner High School and now lives in Peru, lost her husband Edward last Thursday of a massive heart attack. So please remember her. Many were shocked to hear of the death of Alta Newcomer who’ was 77 and passed away Saturday morning after an illness. Many of you will remember her husband. Bill, who died in October of 1981. She leaves three nieces and two nephews. She will be greatly missed at the REAL Services dinners in North Liberty. If you haven’t already driven around town and looked at the beautiful decorated homes, you should do so as I have never seen so many beautiful lights before. They will be judged this week. If you would really like to see another beautiful display of lights, drive to Tyner and go east to the comer of 15905 4B Road at the intersection of Quince Road and you will be amazed at what you see on that comer. Mrs. Vera Homug, of Burlington, lowa, and her daughter called on Ethel Rauen last Thursday. Well, the big day is drawing near, so please get your Christmas news to me early or take them to the new Liberty Drugs. I want to wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year in 1991.
