JGHS LAUNCHES INCENTIVE PROGRAM In an effort to improve student attendance, lower the number of detentions and suspensions, increase student involvement, and encourage students to behave in a more positive way, John Glenn High principal Mike Shuler launched an incentive program. To qualify for this voluntary program, students must maintain a 3.25 grade point index each nine weeks, miss no more than two days per quarter, have no detentions or suspensions, and be involved in at least one student extra-curricular activity.

Students who accept and meet the standards will be admitted free to all varsity home contests, excluding tourneys. They show a laminated gold card for admittance. These students may also waive the semester exam of one class with an "A-” average. In addition, card holding students will get in free to Homecoming dances. WILDCAT Sth GRADE BASKETBALL NEWS The Walkerton Sth grade basketball team played host to the LaVille Lancers Tuesday night and were good hosts for nearly all four quarters. Trailing 20-18, the Wildcats had to rely on their defense to shut down the Lancers until Corey Rough finally hit the shot in the final minute to send the game into overtime. The Wildcats took con-

trol in the overtime period to pull out an exciting 25-20 victory! The Wildcats must play LaVille again in the 8:30 a.m. game of the LaVille Tourney, Saturday, Dec. 15. Frick scored 16 points to lead LaVille. Scoring for Walkerton were Jeremy Lowe 2 points, Jeremy Haag 3, Scott Rans 4, Brian Snell 6 and Corey Rough 10. Brandon Groves made several excellent passes including the assist to even the score at 20-20. On Thursday, Nov. 29, the Wildcats defeated North Liberty 26-4 with ten different players scoring for the Cats and twentyfour players seeing action in the game. Scoring for Walkerton were Wesley Seaman 2, Jason Hartsell 2, Matt Szymczak 2, Jeremy Lowe 2, Chad Blount 2, Corey Rough 2, Ashley Bays 2, Jake Pletcher 2, Jeremy Haag 4 and Brian Snell 6. The victory raises the team record to 4 wins against 0 defeats. Walkerton plays St. Patrick’s at home Thursday, Dec. 13 at 4:15 before the LaVille Tournament, Saturday, Dec. 15. Good luck, Wildcats!
