Under their first year coach, Craig Groves, the season opener pitted the Wildcats up against Olive Twp. The Wilcats came out with a 39-17 victory with everyone contributing. In the victory 10 out of 14 players scored with Joe Hensler, Dale Groves, Jeremy Daley and Scott Bonnell each scoring 6 points. Ray Chapman also chipped in with 5 points. Jerrod Franschetti and Jason Potts led the defensive attack with 4 steals apiece. Scott Bonnell finished off a fine night by grabbing 12 rebounds. On Thursday the Wildcats traveled to North Liberty and came up victorious. The Wildcats came out with a 40-13 win in a game that was very similar to Tuesday's game. Twelve players scored with Scott Bonnell, playing another fine game, scored 7 points and added 9 rebounds. Also scoring were Dale Groves and Jason Potts who added 6 points each. The Wildcats now have a week off for Thanksgiving before a good LaVille team comes to visit the Wildcats on Tuesday, Nov. 27. Your fan support would be very much appreciated. FALCONS CLIP ARGOS 47-33 Urey Middle School’s eighth grade basketball squad roiled to a 47-33 season opening victory over visiting Argos Wednesday afternoon. The local eagers jumped to a 13-4 first quarter advantage and held a 22-12 edge at the intermiss;^n.

The Falcons expanded their lead to 33-22 at the third stop and built a 45-27 margin midway in the final period. The winners held a 30-20 rebounding edge and forced 25 Dragon turnovers with their full court pressure. The locals connected on 53 percent of their field goal attempts while Argos could only manage a 30 percent clip. Thirteen players saw action for Urey with ten scoring. Landon Wiegand poced the local attack with 14 points, nine rebounds, and six steals.
