SENIOR CITIZENS BOWLING NEWS The Walkerton Shady Lanes saw a large number of Senior Bowlers out again this past week. They were making the place vibrate with their shouts of encouragement as the competition intensified! After a relatively low scoring session of last week, the scores bounced back and some fine tallies were recorded by both the ladies and gents. The ladies saw just a “spare’’ seperate the top three high scratch game scores. Liz Moreau's 182 game was followed by Jean Burden’s 174 and Betty Ogle’s 172 scores. High handicap game was Moreau’s 253. Ogle’s 226 just topped Burden's 224 game. High series total was Burden's 464, followed by Ogie’s 452 and Moreau’s 449. There were three other ladies with series totals above the 400 mark. The gents were not to be out done, as they too posted some fine numbers for the record. High scratch game was Harold Schweder’s 233. Leon Verkinder challeged with a nice 214 game, beating Steve Bencze’s 202 scratch game. Verkinder had the high handicap score of 263, followed by Schweder’s 253. Willis McQueary came in third with a 230 handicap game. High series total was Schweder’s 612, outdistancing Bencze’s 517 and Marion Anderson’s 504. Not a shabby day for all for the gents. With 35 bowlers and several spectators, the Seniors are still looking for you if you are a senior and would like good company, exercise, and lots of fun on these cool and blustery fall Wednesday afternoons. It may be dull outside, but it is warm and cheery with coffee and cookies to add to your enjoyment! R.E.A.L. SERVICES NUTRITION PROGRAM N.L.
