More specifically, 36% attend a fouryear college, while 17% attend a two-year college or a vocational/ trade school. The top colleges attended by the 1990 graduates were: Indiana University at South Bend, I.U. at Bloomington, and Purdue University at Lafayette. Out-of-state choices included the American Academy of Art, Williams College, University of Central Florida, and the State University of New York. A total of 40% of the graduates are employed at this time, with the majority in factory or sales related work. A few other common places of employment are in childcare, maintenance, photography, and construction related jobs. Os the graduates, 4% are unemployed at this time. In summary, those attending a post-secondary institution remained about the same as the percentage from the 1989 graduates. The main difference in this year's results was the 40% in the working force compared to 35% of 1989 graduates in the working force upon graduation from John Glenn High School. SENIOR CITIZENS BOWLING NEWS With beautiful fall weather prevailing, the Senior Bowlers were out this past week, ready to make the pins fly just like leaves from the trees. And they did just that, as the scores indicate. The ladies posted another fine scoring session. High scratch game of 178 was rolled by Jean Burden. Liz Moreau’s 161 game just topped Merle Bruesch’s and Stephanie Kilarski's 160 tie game. Moreau bowled the high handicap game of 233, followed by Burden's 229 and Kilarski's 222. Just the difference of one spare! Bruesch’s 448 high series total beat Burden's 437 and Emily Gryb’s 418 totals to round out a day of close scores and fine competition! The gents had a similar close scoring day with Dennis Burden’s 207 high scratch game setting the pace. Eli Sobat's 199 challenged, and both Steve Bencze and Harold Schweder posted 192 games. High handicap game was Sobat’s 241, topping Burden’s 234 and Willis McQueary’s 214 handicap games. High series total was Burden's 544, followed by Ray Devault's 532 and Marion Anderson’s 510 totals. Despite the seeming “difficult” alleys this week, the gents enjoyed a fine day of competition and lots of exercise! As the late fall season approaches, the Senior Bowlers would welcome more participants, as a few of their number are leaving for the warmer latitudes. There’s always room for “just one more” active senior! Make Wednesday afternoons at the Walkerton Shady Lanes a part of your weekly activities.

Often, Indiana is criticized for having overall low SAT averages. However, it should be noted that Indiana encourages large numbers of students to take the test, while in other states, only the collegebound students might be tested. For instance, 57% of the 1990 class at John Glenn took the SAT test. For the first time, this year’s statistics include averages within percentiles, such as the 50th and 75th percentiles, which allows a
