Mr. and Mrs. I eland Frailey held a cousin reunion at their home Sa’urdav in honor of Pearl's three cousins Doris Harmon. Ruth Wittenbrink. of Mr. Vernon and Aimee Crim, of Bement, Illinois. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Johnston and Marv Hershberger. of Logansport, and Pauline Klopfenstein, of Walkerton. 'Rie Wisler family reunion was held at Stuni/ Hochstetler Pines, on Sunday, with 62 present. Familv members came from Chicago. III.; Niles and Stevensville. Mich.; LaPorte: Wakarusa; Hanna; Valparaiso; North Liberty and Walkerton. They all look forward to the reunion at Stuntz's where it is so beautiful this time of year We've been there for at least the last 25 years. Duc to the bad weather plans had to be changed for the drawing which was scheduled for 5:00 p.m. on Sunday. Instead. TRI KAPPA NEWS Sixteen members of Epsilon Chi met for the October meeting at the home of Cindv Keiper. Spider webs and lit pumpkin-sak lanterns greeted the members for the 7:30 meeting. President Wilma Huizenga called the meeting to order and the opening song and verse were given. Individual committees reported.
Members were reminded to bring their baked goods for the ball Festival Bake Sale that has been planned for this Saturday. The Tri Kappa booth will be set up outside DeJoss Pharmacy from 9 to 12 noon. Kim Towle reported that the Nursing Home Birthday Partv will be held on Sunday, October 28. 2:00 p.m. One of our Epsilon Chi members. Mrs. Verice Walz, will supply the entertainment. It was also noted that that is the same dav as the Walkerton Trick-or Treat activity. Sandy Thomas presented the monthly program schedule to the group. A donation to the Tri Kappa Memorial Fund will be sent in memory of past member. Mrs. Carol Muncie. Discussion was held to join with the John Glenn English Department this year in the Toys For Tots program. It is planned that at one of the up-coming meetings, members will be asked to donate new toys for area children. It is also planned for donations of clothing to be given for the elementary school and/or families in need. The charity committee will inform members of the date for needed items. The 30th Anniversary committee reported on their progress for the December 1 celebration. Cindv Keiper and Marv Hoover reported on the State Convention. Informative and useful information w as shared. Annette Heffelfinger reported that a public meeting on Women’s Issues will be held on Wednesday. October 17 at the Walkerton Presbyterian Church. St. Joseph County Citizens are invited and encouraged to attend. Free child care will be provided. The meeting time is 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. Hostesses for the meeting were Cindv Keiper. Marv Hoover and Helen Savoie. The members enjoyed pumpkin squares, chocolate mint cake, iced tea and cider. The next meeting will be held on Thursday, November 1 Place to be announced. Revival Meetings Set For Oct. 21-28 In Walkerton Res A.D Pringle, of Otumwa, L>wa. will be the evangelist for an eight dav Fall Revival meeting at 'he First Baptist Church, corner of ( lark and Maine Streets, in Walk erton. The meetings being on Sundav morning. October 21 and services arc scheduled for 7:00 each evening through October 28. Rev. Prmgle has pastured to Otumwa Baptist Temple for 43 years plus holding several revival meetings. The church under his leadership became one of lowa's largest churches. Also First Baptist Church has invited Earl Smith, of Springfield. Missouri, to be the soloist and director of music for the meetings. Mr. Smith was in charge of music at the High Street Baptist Church for over 40 years before retiring. The church also was one of Missouri's largest churches. Mr. Smith was soloist on a local TV program sponsored by the
