CELEBRATES 100th BIRTHDAY Emma Smith was the guest of honor at a birthday party on Saturday at Miller’s Merry Manor. She was 100 years old on August 28. Those attending the party were: Pauline and Dwight Burch. Becky and DuWayne Burch. Todd. Karen and Nathan Burch, Tracey and Tom Duff. Dennis. Linda Deanna and Debby Burch. Henry and Thelma Haag. Beverly Goldt and Kathy Goldt. Carl and Theresa Haag. Marge Kinyon and daughter Beverly, and of course, the honored guest. A great time was enjoyed by all. Emma received several lovely gifts and cards. She received a card from President and Mrs. Bush also. Delicious refreshments of a beautifully decorated cake, ice cream, punch and coffee were served to evervone. ADULT RECREATION TO BEGIN Adult recreation will begin on Tuesday. September 11 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The cost will be the same as last year. $2.00 per person each night. Recreation will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays. PRE-SCHOOL STORY HOUR The North Liberty Library is not registering for the fall session of pre-school storytime. Sessions will begin on Friday. August 25. Glenn was defeated by Maconaquah 1512. 7-15 and 15-7; by Rochester 15-11 and 15-6; by Oak Hill 15-6 and 15-13; and by Northfield 6-15. 15-13 and 15-12. Lynette Kile was 37 for 42 hitting and Angie Ruby and Cristy Osborn did a good job in serving. Ohio and Genieve Singleton, from Marcellus Michigan. Oldest persons present were Laura (Stickley) Malstaff of Walkerton. age 88. and Lolita Nelson. Hamlet, age 88. Youngest present was Jamie Hardesty. Hamlet, age 18 months. Clvde and Eva Stickley were in charge of this year's reunion. Next year's reunion will be held at the same location with Gladys (Sticklev) and Cecil Ottow in charge. The bagpipe is an old instrument. It is spoken of in the Old Testament and it was used by the Egyptians, Greeks and Romans.
