NORTH LIBERTY NEWS By Gladys Shcneman Miss Kathy Lucas, of Phoenix, Arizona, spent last week with Wes and Maxine Worthington. She is Maxine's niece. A huge crowd attended the North Liberty V.F.W. Post 1954 fundraiser for the North Liberty Youth League. All enjoyed the com and sausage roast last Saturday afternoon and evening. Martha Kane. Maxine Lonzo. Violet Wolff, and Maxine Worthington entertained with music for the Ramblin’ Rascals Chapter 44 of the Good Sam Club at the E-Z Campgrounds near Grovertown. on Saturday. The Adam and Emma Wolff family held their family reunion Sundav at the North Liberty Park. There were 126 relatives present coming from Illinois and Indiana. Our sympathy goes to Wayne Matz and his family, in the loss of his wife. Hope, who has been ill for a long time, but she always had a smile, was so cheerful and never complained. She was an inspiration to all who knew her. Again our sympathy goes to the

Warren Baughman family in the loss of Warren last Thursday. He and his wife, Ruth, were to have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday afternoon at the Pine Creek Church. Our retired senior citizens will greatly miss him. as he was always present when we got together the first Tuesday of the month at the church. Our sympathy also goes to the Harley Baughman family as his wife. Margaret died on Friday. Harley is a first cousin to Warren. Margaret had just returned home on Monday from the hospital after having a hip replacement and then on Thursday, she suffered a heart attack. On Sunday morning. August 19, St. John’s Lutheren Church, along with their pastor Bert Pauluhn will hold services for the campers at Peppermint Hill Picnic Shelter at 8:30 a.m. You are welcome. Forty relatives of the Wentz family attended their reunion held Sunday at Potato Creek State Park. Relatives came from Hunterstown, Elkhart, Winamac and North Liberty area. It will be held at the same place next year. Please remember Harold and Elenore Steele in Michigan City, as Harold isn’t doing well and needs our prayers and a get well card. Refreshments of cherry pie and ice cream was served. Over 100 attended the Bare family reunion held Sunday at Potato Creek State Park. The following friends of Barney and Helen Wentz enjoyed Saturday with them at their mobile home, at Bruce Lake, near Winamac. They were Charles and Helen Hensley. Dan and Irene Roser, Howard and Helen Loucks. Gail and Mae McDaniel. Charles and Dorothy Ziegler. of Fish Lake. Florence Garwood and Gladys Sheneman. A delicious dinner was enjoyed at noon, after which all visited the lovely front porch and enjoyed the cool breeze off the lake. Joyce Richmond returned home on Wednesday after spending the past week in Bakersville, Calif, where she visited her son, Jay. his wife. Rhonda and baby Courtney. Dorothy Reed and Pearl Newcomb spent Saturday, in Three Oaks. Michigan, where they visited Dick and Lillian Reed and also got to see Steve and Kay Wissink and daughter. Casandra. of Marshall, Michigan, who came to visit also. Don and Vickie Nugent, of Colorado, have been spending some time with Vickie's parents, Darwin and Barbara Davis. They were also here to attend her sister’s wedding. Tim and Sue Baughman and family, of Texas, are spending some time here with Harold Snyder’s. Sue's parents and also Tim’s mother. Ruth and his brothers and sisters in the loss of his father, Warren Baughman, whose funeral was Sunday afternoon at Pine Creek church. The noon prayer was given by pastor Kendel Elmore. who is now pastor at Pine Creek. off and the smoke alarm. He would sit and heel and was a very intelligent little dog. The program was entitled "Paws for Listening" and the little dog was to be placed in a new home that evening. Keith Clark brought his horses and buggy and took people for rides around the church, which they enjoyed. Catherine Stone will have the program in September. David and Margie Trobaugh. Jim and Glee Fair and Bill Bauman celebrated with Ruth Bauman on her birthday in Avon Park. Florida. Thcv had a candlelight dinner and Ruth was surprised with all singing happv birthday.
