OPENING DOORS TO COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES Dakota State needs a fullback. West Virginia Tech is looking for baseball pitchers and infielders. Coastal Carolina has scholarship money for two women’s tennis players. University of Texas-Fl Paso needs two six-foot women post players. New Hampshire College desperately needs pitching help. John Slusher, recently appointed area director for College Prospects of America, is hoping to find area high school athletes who can fill these and hundreds more current openings in colleges throughout America. John is a 1985 graduate of Oregon-Davis High School, Hamlet, and a 1989 graduate of Indiana University, Bloomington. College Prospects is an Ohio based organization that has over three hundred scouts in forty states who are reporting to over 1.500 colleges and universities monthly on outstanding local area high school athletes who are college prospects. The second is that the right college has not heard about the player.’’ Fox adds. “Our job is to target the colfege level where the athlete can compete, search our data bank for every college in America in that category, and send a detailed report to each one letting them know this athlete is available for a sscholarship. The student makes the final choice." John Slusher has recently opened his office in Hamlet and will be scouting above-average studentathletes in the area who need help in finding this degree of exposure.
