enjoyed by all with guests coming from California, Florida, Kentucky, Ohio, Michigan. South Carolina and surrounding area. It was a great day and will long be remembered by the Howards. Mr. Allen Balsley of Lakeland, Florida was a guest speaker at the First Baptist Church of North Liberty. Guest vocalist was Mark Staton, of Tennessee, brother to Mrs. Bruce Dixon of New Road. Visitors were there from Florida, Kentucky, Ohio and a few special friends from South Bend. Twenty-four members of the Church of Christ, who belong to the “Over the Hill Gang’’ met Thursday noon in the family center where all enjoyed a delicious dinner and then Helen Wentz entertained with a guessing contest,. Stan Schiemer entertained with his mouth harp and guitar. Our next get together will be a picnic in Potato Creek State Park on the 3rd Thursday of July. Tuesday. July 3rd will be a picnic dinner, at Pine Creek church at noon, prepared by the ladies of the church for the retired friends and neighbors. An interesting program has been planned by Velva Kline of Lakeville. Saturday evening. June 30th, at 9:00 p.m.. Potato Creek State Park will be co-sponsoring their annual Independence Day fireworks over beautiful Worster Lake. There will be no park admission after 7:00 p.m., but a free will offering will be taken by the Lakeville Lions Club members to offset the cost. Plan now to come and enjoy an evening of spectacular fireworks. Come to the beach area and bring your own chair or blanket. Come and watch the 4th of July parade on Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. in North Liberty. Bring your lawn chair. Sounds like it is going to be bigger and much better this year, so come and see. Our sympathy this week goes to the Bill Annis family and his mother. Lillian. I’m sure a lot of you readers knew Bill as he was owner and operator of Annis Finer Food Store on U.S. 31. LaPaz and Lakeville. Bill will be greatly missed as he was always so friendly and well liked bv all who knew him.

July Ist, the Church of Christ of North Liberty will be holding the morning worship service at 8:30 a.m. for the campers at Perppcrmint Hill picnic shelter, with Charles Richmond, pastor, giving the message. You are welcome. About 75 members of the Pine Creek Church enjoyed dinner on Sunday together as their pastor, Wayne Gerber, preached his last sermon, after being their pastor for the past 6'/j years. The ladies of the church made them a beautiful quilt and presented it to them in the morning worship service. Their new minister will be in the pulpit next Sunday, coming from Stouton. Virginia and they are Rev. Kendall and Caroline Elmore. We pray that God will use him to help fill your beautiful church, with people seeking to worship God in your community. Herbert May graduated in 1932 and Walter Watkins graduated in the class of 1934. Our sympathy goes to their families this week also.
