Over 1700 people attended the Tyner Lodge fish fry on Saturday evening held at the Tyner Fire Station. Charles Wright, of Osborn Road, is recovering nicely in Memorial Hospital, after undergoing a hip replacement last Tuesday. Sunday was a special day for Rev. Charles Richmond, of the Church of Christ, as it was 14 years ago on the first Sunday in May that he preached his first sermon in the old sanctuary. In 1983 our church had grown so much, that it was decided to build on. So on October 5. 1986. ground was broken for a new sanctuary, a family center with area meetings, dinners, recreation, chapel, new classrooms, new kitchen and offices. Everyone pitched in and worked together to help complete the building which was dedicated on Sept. 27. 1987 and now as we look back, we couldn't possibly carry on God's great work if we didn’t have all these facilities. Pearl Newcomb entertained the following friends in her home Monday afternoon. Francis Slattery’. Martha McCrosky. Mae McDaniel. Iva Pom men and Gladys
