It was a thrilling experience to witness Sunday morning, at the Church of Christ, at the close of the service, when Rev. Charles Richmond gave the invitation and four young girls went forth and were baptized. They were Lisa Fair, Rachel Peterson, baptized by her father, Ron Peterson, Tracy Limerick. daughter of Allen and Paula Limerich, baptized by Rev. Tim Stewart, associate pastor. He also baptized Marcy Ross, daughter of Logan and Susan Ross. These four girls have been very active in our church. Marcy, Lisa and Tracy have sang together many times and entertained on many occasions. We all wish them well as they go forth to witness and serve the Lord. To bring you up to date on some of our sick friends, Ossie Fisher is a patient again in the LaPorte Health Care Center. Helen Podgodzinski is home recovering from surgery. former resident of Teegarden. They also enjoyed a snack at McDonalds on the way home. Just received a call from Kenneth and Martha Lemert of Mission, Texas, who have arrived at the home of their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. James Williams, LaPaz. They will spend time visiting relatives and friends before going to their home in Wisconsin for the summer. Forty-six passengers boarded an American Dream Tour bus last Thursday morning with some getting on in LaPaz, Plymouth, Bremen. Ligonier and Kendalville. Your news correspondent went along also to especially see the 250 beautiful quilts that were on display at Sauders Farm, Archbold, Ohio. Connie Ullery was our tour guide and our first stop was in Bryon. Ohio, where we toured the Ohio Art Comany and from there we stopped in Archbold, where we shopped for an hour before going on to the Sauder Farm. It was noon when we arrived there, so we all went to the Bam Restaurant where we all enjoyed a family style dinner together in a new dining room as they were remodeling and building on to the restaurant. After dinner I visited the school house, the church, the old house and then 1 went to the quilt fair. 1 have never seen so many beautiful quilts and wall hangings as they had on display. I met four ladies from South Bend who were on the bus and heading for our cars in LaPaz, they came over to me and introduced themselves as John Gruber’s sisters, where we used to sell chickens to his store in South Bend. What a small world. My daughter Norma Patrick gave me last weeks edition of the Salyersville, Kentucky Independent Newspaper, published once a week. I found it very interesting as they had several news correspondents and would you believe they have one from Knox, Indiana named Goldie Cole who has a column every week, as so many from Salyersville settled around Knox many years ago. as the Patricks and a lot of their kin settled around North Liberty and Walkerton. I liked the way she wrote. She closed by saying. Its getting late, and I’m tired and sleepy. Ed has already gone to sleep on the couch. So long until next time and God bless all of you.
