TREE PLANTED IN MEMORY OF LELA FISHER A flowering cherry tree was planted by the North Liberty Community Park, on Monday evening, in memory of Leia Fisher. Richard Warner, Gary Brown and little Jamison Brown supplied the muscle. Park board members Debbie Brown. Karen Warner and Judy Springman looked on. The North Liberty Women's Cub donated the tree in recognition of Leia's untireing contribution to the community. Everywhere you saw the fruits

She shared and shared. Many recipies are preserved through her influence. Music also was her name. She plaved the paino at club and just for fun. Do you remember all the music contests held at the Methodist Church? Contestants came from the General Federation Women’s Cub District.

She and her husband. Ossie, visited and entertained, shut-ins. Always doing something and cheering someone. Just as she brightened everyoncs day. the members of the Women’s Cub wish the memorial tree will continue to be a bright spot at the park for many years. The tree can be seen on top of the hill just north of the small swing set. Club members attending the planting were Martha McCrosky. Yvonne Foresman. Iva Pommert. Edith Rupel, Alta Steele. Frances Slattery and Pauline Laskowski. Other ladies of the club include Ruth Cullar, Bernice Farrar and
Hermina Brinkoff. NOTICE There will be a blood pressure, triglycerits, cholesterol and blood sugar clinic at the Koontz Lake Missionary Church, on Thursday. May 3. from 9:00 to 11:00 a m. The clinic is sponsored by the Starke County Health Services. For the blood sugar, cholesterol and triglycerits testing you will have to fast and there is a $5.00 charge.
