Starting April 13 the maih gate at Potato Creek State Park will be open every day from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Many recreational opportunities aw ait you at the park this spring. On April 21 and 22 an event, call the National Celebration of the Outdoors is scheduled to be held in conjunction with the 20th anniversary of Earth Day. Miller’s Merry Manor was a busy place Friday afternoon with so much activity going on. At 1:00 p.m. Rev. Virginia Spillman, of the Hamlet area, gave a very intresting Easter message with special music, after which Madelyn Nelson at the piano and Gladys Sheneman entertained. They had an Easter hat parade with many of the residents participating. You should have , seen Cecil Hay and Vestal MeEndafer in their Easter bonnets. After the parade, who should appear, but the Easter bunny and did the residents eyes light up when he gave them a big hug. He also did the bunny hop and then Gladys escorted him to the rooms of the residents that were not able to come to the dining room for the program. What a thrill to see Lucile Ward. Dwight McKesson. Mr. and Mrs. Cummins, Dottie Wolff and even Jane Gordon and many others smile when they saw the Easter bunny. share some Easter happiness with all the residents as some have been there for a good many years. Just received word that Helen Podgodzinski returned home Saturday afternoon from the LaPorte Hospital where she underwent surgery last Saturday morning. It is going to take some time for her to recover as she has been a very sick gal. Thursday, April 19. guests of Vylet Baker will be Dorothy Reed and June Weber, of North Liberty and Florence Wiese. Ethel Hillegas and Helen Bricker, of South Bend. They will be celebrating the birthdays of Dorothy and Vylet, so happy birthday and best wishes from all your friends. It was a great day on Easter at the Church of Christ, about 200 attended the Sunrise Service with the Day Break Singers in charge of the service. After which a breakfast followed in the family center with the young people participating under the direction of Rev. Tim Stewart and Tom Fair. A goal of 526 was set for a new record of 550 which made us all happy and was really good news at the close of the wonderful service. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Roser became members of our Christian family which was also good news, with Rachel Lung being baptized by her father, Nickolas Lung, at the close of the Sunrise Service. Weekend guests of Lonnie and Justine Shetler and son were Lonnie’s parents. Jake and Rose Shetler, of Decatur. Michigan. Guests for Easter dinner were Steve and Pat Foresman and son, Steve Jr., Lisa Morris and sons, Phillip and Andy and Lonnie's grandparents, Milo and Elizabeth Yoder, of Goshen. Other evening callers were Dale and Angie Shetler, of South Bend. Gene and Norma Patrick took Gladys Sheneman to the Ponderosa Resturant near the airport where they enjoyed their Easter dinner and then enjoyed a ride before returning home. Many of you readers in the Tyner area will remember back in the early 40's when Mark Brumbaugh was principal at the Tyner High School and they lived next to the church and attended church there. They moved to South Bend where he taught at Cay Township High School for 28 years. He passed away Saturday morning at 9:14 a.m. in Healthwin Hospital and his wife. Zedda. died on Saturday evening. They leave a son. David and daughter. Mary Kay. Our sympathy certainly goes to the children.

Jill Richmond and Scott Lucas, seniors of Cincinatti Bible College, spent Easter weekend with her parents. Rev. Charles and Joyce Richmond. Jill and Scott have announced their engagement. Weekend guests of Gail and Mae McDaniel were Fontelle Spellman, of Alexander. South Carolina and Mr. and Mrs. Don McDaniel of Rolling Meadows, Illinois. Mr. and Mrs. Curtis McDaniel and sons, of Richmond, came to spend Easter Sunday with his parents. On Easter Sunday, Mrs. Ethel Rauen entertained Ethel Holmes. Travis and Joan Holmes and son, Michael and Kari Williams of Park Forest. Illinois who spent the weekend with her parents. Over 400 attended the Easter cantata held at the Church of Christ, on Friday evening. They were great as there were 60 in the Community Choir led by Devon Yockey. Remember Friday. April 20, at 2:00 p.m., is the quilt show at Miller's Merry Manor, in Walkerton. A good show is planned with quilts over 100 years old to be on display. Read And Use The Cassifieds
