Tony Lldgard Wins State Free Throw Contest ; i ^|Bßßmmmn The Knights of Columbus Counnl 5709 would like to congratulate Tonv Lidgard on winning the Indiana State K of C Free Throw Championship in the 12-year-old division. After winning the Council* and District competition at North Liberty and the Regional, at Portage. Tony traveled to Indianapolis. He was tied with another competitor after 25 free throws, but was victorious after a five free throw shoot off hitting a total of 27 free throws out of a possible 30. Tony is now eligible to compete in the International K of C Free Throw championship and based on his past performances he should do very well. This is the second time Tony has represented the local K of C Council at Indianapolis as he advanced to the state level as an II year old last year. Good luck on the International level. Tony. BAKE-A-RAMA AND ARTS & CRAFTS DAY The annual Bake-A-Rama and Arts & Crafts Day sponsored by the St. Joseph County Extension Homemakers will be held on Wednesday. May 9th in the Esther Singer Building on the St. Joseph County 4-H Fairgrounds, corner of Ironwood and Jackson Roads. Residents of St. Joseph County who are 18 years or older are encouraged to enter a Bake-A-Rama in any of the six categories. Cake divisions are chocolate, white or yellow, angel f<x>d. chiffon, sponge, creative mixes and miscellaneous. Decorated cakes include nut bread, muffins, coffee cake and creative mixes. The divisions in the cookie category are drop, filled, bar. rolled, fancy or shaped cookies and creative mixes. One or two crust pies may be entered in the pic category - no milk or egg fillings, cream or custard (pumpkin included) because of health reasons. Mixes may be used only in the creative mixes division in each category. All entries must be brought to the Esther Singer Building on the 4-H Fairgrounds between 7:30 and 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
