ENJOYS TRIP Elizabeth Smith. Walkerton, was recently visited by her son Ernie, who drove her to his home in Dversvillc. lowa. After visiting a few dass with him. thcv flew to San Diego. California, along with Ernie’s son. lorin and his granddaughter. Crystal Bill. In San Diego thex visited for a week with Elizabeth's son and daughter-in-law, Ralph and Susie Smith. While in California they went to Disneyland and visited Tijuana. Mexico Elizabeth also was able to watch her grandson. Lorin, take a hang gliding lesson which began by taking off from a .WO foot cliff overlooking the Pacific in la Jolla. After returning to lowa. her daughter Kay and her husband Richard Lashua. from Kingsford Heights, drove to lowa and brought her back to Walkerton. CELEBRATES 60TH BIRTHDAY Mr. Lyle Roush. Brad Stooks Wins Arizona State Free Throw Contest Previous St. Patrick's school student Brad Stooks. recently won the Arizona State Free Throw Contest for the 11 year old age group. Brad, now a Prescott. Arizona resident, won the championship which was held in Tucson. Brad qualified for the finals after shooting 88 percent in the first 2 rounds. In the final round, he shot 84 percent and went on to win the title in a sudden death shoot-off. Brad is the son of Jackie and Russell Stooks. formerly of Walkerton. and attends Humboldt Elementary School, in Prescott. Arizona. petition. Those representing John Glenn include Student Director Katie Jacob; seniors Angie Bussard, Tara Dosman. Tina Holderrcad and Lisa Savoie; juniors Gwen Davey, Stacie Havne, Lynette Kile. LaDora Kronk. Stephanie McGwin. Sheila Micinski. Cristy Osborn, Chris Paschen and Pam Popovic; and freshmen Tia Jacobson, Emily Vandall and Jessica Verhaeghe. The squad will perform two routines during the competition. They will be competing against eleven other squads from ten area highschools. Tickets are $2.50 for adults and $1.50 for students and arc available by calling the high school. Tickets will also be available at the door. Plan to go to South Bend Washington High School Friday night and support the John Glenn Pom-pon squad. Use your seat belts!
