North Liberty Anne DeMan and Marion Carpenter were married Saturday. March 3. Anne is the daughter of Steve and .Joanne Rudynski and Marion is the son of Pauline Bischoff, of Sedona. Arizona. Attending the wedding were Dustin DeMan. Steve and Joanne Rudvnski and son. Tim and friend Randv, Bert and Arlene Rudynski, Aletha Croy and Bill and Pauline Bischoff of Arizona. All enjoyed the reception and dinner at the Hacienda Restaurant, after which the couple left for a Caribbean cruise. House guests of Aletha Croy from Thursday until Saturday were Bill and Pauline Bischoff, of Sedona. Arizona. About 40 members of the various churches in the area gathered Sunday aftcrmxm at the Church of Christ for the Community Choir which will all participate in the Gixxl Friday Cantata to be held at the Church of Christ, on April 13, at 7:00 p.m. Devon Yockey is the director of the choir. Hevcl all enjoyed dinner at Walt’s Restaurant in South Bend recently and then enjoyed seeing so many deer as they drove through Potato (reek State Park. Kate's son. Don Hevcl, of Grand Rapids, Michigan spent last Thursday and Friday with his mother. Joan Koenig, of Liberty Homemakers Club won first prize on her beautiful hand-knit wedding gown and tux with tails for Barbie and Ken dolls. They will now go to the State Council meeting in June. We sure hope you win first in the state also, as she made and created her own patterns for them. ( arl Kaser had a public auction at the Community Building on Saturday for Doug and Gavle Ligget, who arc moving to Tennessee and then on Sunday he held a consignment auction with both draw ing large crowds. Well, its maple syrup making time and I hear that Allen Kaser is busy at his camp now, boiling the water down. Sure hope it turns out a good year as I want some syrup, how about you? Sorry to report that North Liberty has lost another prominent downtown businessman. Dale Trobaugh will be greatly missed in our area, as he was always involved in so many activities and so our sympathy goes to his wife, Mav and his daughter, Terry Lee Menges. of Walkerton and family. had been spending the winter in Florida. Duc to Maxine Worthington being ill last Wednesday, Gladys Shcncman and Violet Wolff enjoyed dinner together at Mel's Restaurant in New Carlisle and then went to Miller's Merrv Manor Nursing Home and entertained the residents for an hour. They also saw Forest Bwne, of Walkerton who is now a resident there. Kenny and Elaine Wagner spent from Thursday until Saturday afternoon with their daughter. Janice and her husband, Michael Leak and daughter. Michelle Elaine. They attended their granddaughter’s dedication on Sunday. Ed and Helen Podgodzinski and Max Wolfe, of Walkerton, were Sunday evening luncheon guest of Gladys Shcncman. Over 300 attended the American Dream Tours open house Saturday. March 3 at the Community Building in LaPaz. with several from the North Liberty area attending the “Stepping Out In Style Show." with several of the Dream Tour Family participating and among them was Harry and Cleora Kurzhal, of North Liberty. The style show clothes were from Treat's Squire Shop, in downtown Plymouth. After which all enjoyed a trip to Hawaii by slides with Margaret Casey, of Modcsta. California. explaining all the things thev will be seeing on the American Dream Tour to Hawaii on November b - 16. Refreshments of cake. nuts, mints, and punch were served by Connie's helper’s. All received packets of all the trips planned for the year of 1990 Many of Edna Steele's relatives and friends attended her open house for her 90th birthday, hosted by her daughter, Donnahclle and family at the Baptist Church Saturday afternoon. Edna is now a resident at Miller's Merrv Manor. Walkerton, but she was able to come over for her birthday celebration. She received many cards and gifts. Levels refreshments were served. How many of you readers remember Hank Dittmar. who use to live on New Road and now lives in one of Bertie Bulla apartments? Well, you know he remembers more about the changes that have taken place in North Liberty down through the years, than anyone else I have contacted He remembers when he first came into our town from New York Citv. where no one knew their next door neighbors, and then to see the streets filled here on Saturday

The post office was located where the dime store is and the other half of the store was where Cecil and Vera Williams had a grocery store. Remember them good old days?
