The Student Council of Urey Middle School decorated a Christmas tree which stands in the hall at Urey. This tree was graciously donated to the school by Mr. and Mrs. Joe Long. North Liberty Also this week, the students at Urey arc giving to the Community Pantry and Santa’s Workshop by bringing in canned goods and money to be used to help families in the area. Students are encouraged to bring items in for the pantrv and/or money to “FILL THE COOKIE JAR" which money received will be used to purchase toys for children who aren't as fortunate as we are during the holidays. Ann Paul, and Annitah Patrick EXTENSION HOMEMAKERS TO MEET The Koontz Lake Extension Homemaker's met last Monday night at the home of Mrs. Richard Shaffer. Guests for the evening were the members of the Cheaper Bv The Dozen Club from Hamlet. Also present was Starke County Home Economist. Mary Ann Christensen and daughter. The ladies all enjoyed the guest speaker. Marsha Reese, of Marsha's Petals. Plants and Potpourri, of W’alkcrton. She related many interesting facts about the florist shop and arranged a beautiful centerpiece which was won by Mrs. Jay Awald. A brief business meeting conducted by president. June Ketchum. was followed bv a social hour. The club's Christmas party will be on December 18. at Esther Scanlon's, at 6:00 p.m.. C.D.T.

REAL SERVICES NEWS On Monday we helped celebrate Adam Tyge's 81st birthday. Ivy Tyge brought in candy and we thank her. it was a treat. Our chairperson was Hazel Schwedcr and she read some humorous stones Our quiz master. Jim Thibodeaux. gave us a test on memory, you'd be surprised to know what our scores were, contrary to popular open opinion, senior citizens do not loose their zest for learning or suffer memory loss. Tuesday's program proved this. Leon McKesson called the numbers for our bingo game on Wednesday. We enjov playing and there were prizes for everyone. Joe Grczegork, the REAL Services Coordinator from South Bend, had dinner with us.
