fruit, candies, and a Halloween balloon and we raffled it off. Hazel Kampc was the lucky winner. Caroline Danielcwski made cookies to go with our dinner and we wish to thank her. Helen Cowood (old us about her harrowing experience. she was visiting her son in California and they were at the ballpark when the earthquake hit. Fortunately they were not hurt and we are very glad Helen got back safely. Our tables were festive on Tuesday with baskets of gourds, orange napkins, and candy corn. We were in a Halloween mood and gave away two jugs of apple cider. Eddie Shaffer and Harriet Jeffrey were the lucky winners. The door prize was a pretty wicker basket of apples and Mary Cripe received it. Millie Daniels brought in homemade applesliccs and Nellie Smith won them. On Wednesday Florence Seekings entertained us with her guitar and singing. She also brought in beautiful yellow mums for our tables. Thanks so much Florence. Fred Bullinger was our chairman on Thursday and he gave away three loaves of his raisin bread. Dwight Burch. Nellie Smith and Kathy Fort received thenj On Friday. Nedra Geymont brought in a homemade apple pie and Martha Mull won it. We held our sing-a-long starting with our theme song. "The More We Get Together”. We want to thank Katie Capes for placing for us. our usual accompanist. Verice Walz, was laid up with a bad knee and we wish her a speeds recovery. Last year our group raised money for (he ambulance fund and this year we are collecting food for the Community Pantry. We hope in our small way. that we arc helping our community that has been so helpful to us. We donated our juice to the pantry last week. Our sympathy goes to Rose Taylor on the death of her sister. Violet Wolfs date has been changed to November 16 We wish to extend our heartfelt sympathy to the family of Gaynellc Dcnaut. Gas nolle was one of our most faithful diners and we shall all miss her. NORTH LIBERTY REAL SERVICES NEWS Several people al the North Liberty site participated in the free eye screening, by Dr. Kcsgei. of South Bend. November 15 we will be having a program presented by a naturalist from Potato Creek State park. The program will be "Year of (he Deer.” Upcoming fun things we will be doing will be card bingo and a white elephant sale combined with a bake sale. Always a lot of fun. SENIOR BOWLING NEWS The bowling season is now well underway, averages and handicaps are stabilizing as each session sees one or two more seniors join the group. Needless to say, the competition stiffens as the bowlers settle into their form. The ladies reallv rolled sonic nice games this past week, in most categories topping the gents numbers Clare Martin led the ladies in all events as her high scratch game of 221 topped Merle Bruesch’s IMO and Norine Divine's 169 games. Martin's 276 high handicap game bested Bruesch’s 2.16 and Divine’s 227 by a good margin! Martin’s high series total of 475 just did beat Bruesch’s 468 Divine placed third with a 445 total Fun and rivalry increases each week, along with the averThe gents did not have as good a

High scratch game was rolled bv Harold Schweder, who posted a 188 game. Manon AndJtrson followed closely with a 181 total. Dave Lind was not far behind with a 177 game. Schweder's 518 high series total was the only series topping the 500 mark. Eli Sobat was close with a 472 series.
