BETTER HOMES EXTENSION CLUB MEETS The Belter Homes Extension Cub gathered at the home of Mrs. Tom Haag for their Halloween partv. on Monday evening. October 23. It was hard to judge the many fine costumes. Four were given prizes and they were Mrs. Harry Malstaff. Mrs. Dale Cilery. Mrs John Wathen and Mrs. Leigh Hahn. Presidents. Mrs. Allan Eddinger. led the business meeting. The secretary report was given bv Mrs Hahn and the treasurers report by Mrs Harold Eddinger. The birthday song was sung for Mrs Malstaff and Mrs Hahn and the anniversary song for Mrs Clyde Stickles. Twelve answered roll call with do you still see your best friends from high school? Three attended the quilt das at the fairgrounds and they were Mrs. Ellery. Mrs. Allen Eddinger and Mrs. Albert Ray. They are now working on the quilt to be gisen away next year at the St. Joseph County Fair. The title for the new quilt is Ribbon Star.

Many Halloween games were played led by Mrs. Hahn. Winners were Mrs. Malstaff. Mrs. Harold Eddinger and side number two in the witches race. The next meeting will be at Mrs. Hahn's home on November 2'. We w ill have a w hite elephant sale. We thank Mrs. Haag for the delicious refreshments and hostessing the fun time. UNITED METHODIST WOMEN MEET The United Methodist Women held their meeting at the church on October 19. It was a very bail snowy evening but some braved the weather and came to the meeting. President. Linda Craft led the meeting. Prayer requests were for Pam Craft and Ruth Black families. Ruth Wathen, Robert Campbell and Helen and Maric Holland. Prayer was then given. Mrs. Walter Smith led the devotions, then we sang and then prayer was given. Linda Klinedinst announced we will host a birthday party at Hamilton Grove next year in May. Vice president, Alice Bostwick, said the programs for the next year are set up and ready to go. The nominating committee presented the slate of officers for 1990.
