North Liberty Eldon Clark was a surgical patient at St. Joseph's Medical Center, and is now home after being released on Friday, September 22. He is reported as doing fine, Lynn. Jennifer and Megan Ginzer were Saturday afternoon visitors of Frank and Betty Ginzer. The over the hill gang of the Church of Christ met Thursday noon where 29 enjoyed a bontiful dinner together. Two guest were present. Bob Kring and Catherine Theis. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Helius and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Louck s entertained the group with games and contest. Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Mack of Wanatah, were Saturday visitors of his sister. Ethel Rauen. Dave and Pam Craft held an open house Sunday afternoon at the new Community Center in honor of Bea Sheneman. who is retiring after working twenty-five years at the drug store. Many relatives and friends attended to wish her well. She received many lovely cards and gifts. Lovely refreshments were served. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Stoneburner of Plymouth were Saturday evening luncheon guests of Gladys Sheneman. Congratulations to Dale Cox and Darlene Moody of Elwood, Indiana who were married on September 9 in Elwood bv Rev. Ed Finley. They spent their honeymoon in Gatlinburg, Tennessee and report they had a wonderful time there as

the scenery and mountains were just beautiful and there was so much to see and do. We all wish them a very happy life together, at this address, 27657 New Road, North Liberty. Indiana 46554. Many from this area are going to the Progress Show near Rochester Tuesday, including your news reporter, so my news won’t be lengthy for this week. Becky and DuWayne Burch attended the 50th anniversary open house for Mr. and Mrs. Alph Cripe in Legioner on Sunday. They also stopped in at the open house for Bea Sheneman. Kim Stuber of Sylvia Drive, was very pleasantly surprised on his 40th birthday on Saturday evening when about 20 of his relatives and friends he works with were hiding in his home and as he opened the door, thev greeted him with Happv Birthday. The house was decorated with balloons and streamers and lovely refreshments were served along with a beautiful 40th birthday cake to all the guests. He received many cards and gifts and all wished him many more Happv Birthdays as they departed. Don't forget Tuesday, October 3rd at 12:00 noon, the retired Neighbors and Friends will meet again for a fellowship dinner at Pine Creek and then listen to the Senior Citizen Chorus entertain us from Bremen. On Sunday evening. October 1 at 7:30 p.m., Amy VanArsdall will be at the Church of Christ to give a report on her trip to Zaire, Africa. Illinois spent Thursday night and Friday with her mother. Betty McCormick. Week-end guests of Howard and Helen Loucks were Mrs. Helen Stone of Fillmore. Indiana and Mr. and Mrs. Lee Perry and Mrs. Mae Reeder, all of Rockville. Indiana. The women all attended the Mennonite Relief Sale in Goshen on Saturday and saw the prize quilt called “Borelis.” which consisted of 1600 little pieces, selling for SI 1,000.00 There were over 300 quilts sold. Remember Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Community Building in LaPaz, Ruby Salyer will be holding her quilt show which she has held for the past several years. This year several quilting friends worked together making a beautiful Double Irish Chain quilt, which will be auctioned off at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The proceeds will go to Hospice in South Bend. Janice Shidler and Nellie Heyde will be serving delicious home cooked food each day. REAL SERVICES NEWS We have been busy at the North Liberty site and have had a good attendance everyday. Thanks to everyone who brought in fresh produce for those who did not have gardens. We enjoyed Charlie Myers and his banjo music, accompanied by Madelyn Nelson on the piano last Friday. Everyone sang along to the old tunes and had alot of fun. We hope he comes back. Our sympathy is extended to Ray Helsius on the death of his brother and to Grace Wolfe for her husband.
