Sergeant Major Frame developed a completely automated requisition system for the United States Army Reserve full-time manning program which significantly enhanced the overall program quality. The system has enabled a critical asset for United States Army reserve units to be tracked and requisitioned in a manner required to insure program success. Sergeant Major Thomas E. Frame’s conspicuous performance of duty represents exemplars achievement in the finest traditions of the United States Army and reflects great credit upon him and the military service. Walkerton Mr. and Mrs. Gaude Nowakowski. of Koontz Lake, returned home on Tuesday after spending a week with their son, Dennis and Frank Turner, a friend of the family, in Wichita. Kansas. It was a fun filled week and most enjoyable and busy, each day spent dining and sightseeing. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Burch returned home last Wednesday from a 21-day trip to Yellowstone National Park, Big Fork. Glacier National Park. Kootenai National Park in British Columbia. Chateau Lake Louise, Vancouver, where they boarded the Nieuw Amsterdam and sailed the beautiful scenery of the Inside Passage to Ketchikan. Juneau. Glacier Bay National Park. Sitka, and then back to Vancouver and then on to Seattle and then back to Chicago. Firemen who spent the weekend camping at New Carlisle for their Harvest Days Festival. This is an enjoyable time together with different people from around the state all gathering in one spot. On Monday evening. July 31. the Pastor Parish and Trustee Committee of the Walkerton United Methodist Church met at the church parsonage with Pastor Marilyn Gebert and her husband Jimmy for a dessert carry-in. An evening of fellowship and great desserts were enjoyed by all. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Urbin and Mrs. Bertha Urbin were Friday evening dinner guests of Dr. and Mrs. John Guttman, in Wakarusa. Also attending were Mr. and Mrs. Brian Buckles and son Kyle, of Green Bay, Wisconsin; and Mr. and Mrs. David Yoder. Jessica, Stephanie and Todd, of Elkhart. Mrs. Guttman and Mrs. Buckles were Sunday afternoon callers of Mrs. Bertha Urbin. On Monday, Mrs. Ruth Hughes, of South Bend, was a caller of Mrs. Urbin. Mrs. Ruth Ullery, along with her brother, Carl Wisler. of Niles. Michigan, were taken to Hamlet last Thursday to visit with another brother. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Wisler. Also joining the group was Carl Wisler’s son and wife, of Stevensville, Michigan. 1 <

ATTEND FAMILY REUNION The Hartsoch and Dawson family reunion was held in the Peace Gardens, in North Dakota, on June 27. 28 and 29. The reunion was hosted by the Goods families, of Rolla. North Dakota. Relatives came from California. Colorado. Canada. Minnesota, Montana. North Carolina. Oregon. Ohio. Illinois Washington. North Dakota and Indiana. Those attending from Walkerton were Clyde and Eva Stickley. Frances and Gerry Laßere and grandson and Donald and Norma Laßere and son and daughter-in-law and grandchildren of Chesterton. The very first reunion was held at the Dawson farm, at Rollett, North Dakota in 1909. Eva’s grandparents homesteaded from Knox. Indiana. The next reunion is in three years in Colorado. Clyde and Eva traveled on to Ray and Tioga. North Dakota to see those who couldn't attend the reunion.
