NORTH LIBERTY MERCHANTS BOWLING TOURNEY RESULTS The annual Merchants Bowling Tourney for league bowlers of Liberty Lanes, in North Liberty, were held March 11 and 12. The top five men and women of the Saturday night elimination round bowled match play on Sunday. In the first game of the women’s roll-off Celia Cravens beat Becky Phegley 229-190. The second game had Lisa Jaworski beating Celia Cravens 194-179. Jaworski then fell to Liz Chrzan in the third game 195-177. The final game had Chrzan bowling against the number one qualifer. Judy Gensinger. in which Gensinger won the match 238-172. In the opening match of the men's roll-off Brad Horvath lost to Rich Louderback 189-224. Louderback then beat Mike Chrzan 244202. In the third game John Carroll out rolled Louderback 250242. The final game was between Dave Scott, the number one qualifier and Carroll, with Scott winning 264 193. First place received $250.00 cash and a beautiful wall dock trophy donated by Nunley's Trophy House, of North Liberty. Second place won $125.00; third place $75.00. fourth place $65.00 and fifth place $50.00.
