Club Members Make Valentines For Residents Over 2(M) valentines were constructed by about 20 members of the Woman's Community Club of Walkerton on Friday. February kd. Ihe very pretty and clever valentine greetings were made to present to the residents of Miller's Merry Manor Nursing Home. The work meeting began at 10:00 a m. at the Community Building. Mem hers brought sack lunches, follow cd by cake and coffee or tea. The hostesses were volunteers who were gracious enough to fill in for the designated hostesses who were unable to attend the meeting, they were Alfredia Onika. Jan I nghsh. Florence Vischc and Ann Kock well. Frieda Meyer, vice-president, opened the meeting in the absence of president Mildred Casey Mrs. Casey is visiting her son in Washington and will undergo knee surgery around February lOth. The vice-president informed the members that those who wished to write to Mildred could address her at 23208 S.E. 135th St., Issaquah. Washington 98027. A prayer was said and a moment of silence observed for Vivian Hillis who passed away on Thursday. Mrs. Hillis was a member of long standing and a past president of the GFWC Club. The presiding officer also read the poem "Crossing Os The Bar" in Mrs Hillis' memory. A raffle was held bv Ella Remus. Ways and Means chairman, with prizes going to Alice Walker and Helen Bowman Josephine Nowakowski. Sunshine chairman, reported she had sent get-well cards to Gertrude Brehm. Designed to publicize their 21st annual Fine Arts and ( raft Festival, the contest is open to everyone living in the John Glenn School Corporation district.
