Kristi Lynn McGovern, daughter of John and Judy McGovern, of Walkerton, and Timothy J. Norton, son of Joe and Beverly Norton, of Mishawaka, were united in marriage on Saturday. July 16, at 6:00 p.m.. at the United Methodist Church, in Walkerton. The dou-ble-ring candlelight ceremony was performed by Rev. Thomas Bowman and Rev. Michael Cover, cousin of the bride. Special music was provided by Cheryl Steele, sister of the groom, and Mrs. Sharon Klinedinst. The bride chose a Victorian style satin gown which was highlighted with a sheer yoke. The long puffed shoulder sleeves with intricate cutouts were heavily beaded. The beading was repeated on the bodice with a reflective pattern on the front and back of the skirt which flowed into a cathedral train. The bride carried a bouquet of white carnations and a cascade of peach roses. Attending the bride as matron of honor was Cindy Wagoner and

bridesmaid was Angela Shetland, friends of the bride. Also serving as flower gir! was Paige Wagoner. Best man was Kelly McGovern, brother of the bride. Groomsmen were the groom’s brother, Benjimen Norton, David Steele and Pat McGovern, brother of the bride. A reception for approximately 200 guests followed at the Walkerton Youth Building. Serving at the reception were Mrs. Margo Brems, Mrs. Wilma Huizenga, Miss Andrea Brems and Mr. Keith Knepper. Christina Trimmer, cousin of the groom, registered the guests. Also attending the bride was her sister-in-law, Sharon McGovern. The bride chose to decorate in colors of peach and white. Following a trip east, the couple is now residing in Walkerton. The bride is a 1987 graduate of John Glenn High School and is currently employed at Wilcox. Inc., in Walkerton. The groom is a 1986 graduate of GBS, in Cincinnati, Ohio and is employed at Derby. Inc.. South Bend.

Lincoln Township 4-H appeared in their first parade in more than 10 years on Monday, August 1, at the opening ceremony of the St. Joseph Co. 4-H Fair. They placed 2nd in animated floats receiving $25.00. The 103 degree temperatures melted more than crepe paper, but the seven theme characters held on. ENJOY SUMMER READING CLUB PARTY The Koontz Lake Garfield Summer Reading Club party was held on Saturday, August 6, with 22 children present. We are proud to announce our members beat last year's record of 1,092 books read with a grand total of 1,540 books read this summer. Each member received a certificate with their name and the amount of books that they had read. Top readers in each age group received back packs and the winners are as follows: 1-5 years, Josiah Bentle; 6-9 year olds, Andv Schmeltz; and 10 and up, Venessa Gonzales. Second place winners were Becky Yakim, 1-5; Daniel Bentle, 6-9 j and in the 10 and up age group was Jessica Yakim. The second place winners also received a gift. Three guest readers helping Andy out were Jessica Yakim. Elizabeth Janovic and Venessa Gonzales, who did a great job, maybe they will be the storyteller of the future. Games and prizes were awarded with the winners being Elizabeth Janovic. Jessica Yakim, Abbey Rannells, Sara Yakim, Venessa Gonzales, Chanon Wagers, Jenell Bolinski. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Sandra McNeal and the late James McNeal, of 55115 Pine Road, South Bend, and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lorn Correll, 30430 Osborne Road, North Liberty. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wright, 30838 Osborne Trail, North Liberty. Attending the couple were Pam Roseberry, North Liberty, and Preston McNeal, brother of the groom, South Bend. A wedding trip to Cedar Point was taken and the couple reside at 403 N. Grogg Street, Spring Lake, North Carolina. The bride is a graduate of Washington High School, South Bend, and the groom is a graduate of John Glenn High School, Walkerton. He is stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina as a heavy equipment engineer.
