JEANETTE E. RUTTER Mrs. Jeanette E.Ruiter, 60, of Rural Route 4, Box 226, Walkerton, passed away at 2:15 p.m., on Wednesday, July 27, at the Michiana Community Hospital, South Bend. She was bom on November 17, 1927, in Oak Lawn, Blinois. She came to Walkerton 14 years ago. On September 1, 1945, she married Cornelius Ruiter, in Oak Lawn, Illinois, who survives. Surviving along with her husband are two sons, George, of Green Bay, Wisconsin, and Dale, of Midland, Michigan; three daughters, Sandra Norris, of Oak Lawn. Penny Klinedinst, and Jean Klinedinst, both of Tyner; 13 grandchildren; and one brother, Herbert Tailsma, of Tinley Park, Illinois. Services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, at the Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel, with Rev. Greg Bentle officiating. Burial was in the Grovertown Cemetery. Monday, August 1, at 10:30 a.m. at Porter Memorial Hospital. She was bom May 2, 1960, in Marion, Indiana, to Charles and Lorena (Smith) Briggs and lived in the area two-and-a-half years, coming from Holland, Michigan. She was a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary. On June 28, 1986, in Walkerton, she married James E. Goetz, who survives. Also surviving are her mother, Mrs. Lorena Briggs; and one brother, Kevin Briggs, both of Koontz Lake; and her grandmother, Beatrice Pruitt, of Marion. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel, with Rev. David Gosnell officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday. Bruial will be in the Tyner Cemetery. “TRAVEL-AIRES” TO PERFORM The “Travel-Aires”, a country quartet performing with a similar style as the ‘‘Statler Brothers” and the “Oak Ridge Boys”, will be entertaining Saturday, August 6, at Potato Creek State Park, in the Whispering Winds Picnic Shelter. The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. The group has performed at every Jerry Lewis Telethon since its formation in 1982 and performed both on and off camera for the

movie “Hoosiers”. The performance, sponsored by the Department of Natural Resources’ Cultural Arts Program, is free to the public after paying gate admission. ANCILLA OFFERS “WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL” WORKSHOP Ancilla College will offer a twopart Workshop entitled “Welcolme Back To School” which will begin in August. On Saturday, August 13, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, the first session will be geared toward adult students returning to school after several years’ absence. This session will include coffee and rolls, a presentation by Dr. Margo DeMont, information about available financial aid, and tours of the college. sociation and the Indiana Pharmacy Association issued a joint statement today to remind their members and the public about a new amphetamine regulation. Dave Clark P.D., IPA executive director, said the announcement was an effort by pharmacists and doctors to address one of the major prescription drug abuse problems in Indiana. Under the rule, which took effect July 1, doctors are prohibited from prescribing and dispensing Schedule II amphetamines for weight loss. An American Medical Associa-tion-sponsored Prescription Data Abuse Synthesis (PADS) study indicated that Indiana ranked sixth nationally in per capita consumption of amphetamines. Both the ISMA and IPA participated in the PADS study. The high usage suggested amphetamines were prescription drugs that illegitimately were being diverted and abused, said ISMA Executive Director, Richard King. “After the study was released. ISMA’s Board of Trustees recommended that the Indiana Medical Licensing Board ban amphetamines for weight loss," King said. Another provision of the new rule restricts both the amount and the length of time doctors may prescribe Schedule 111 and IV anorectics for weight loss. Physicians are
