Mr. and Mrs. Caude Nowakowski. of Koontz Lake, had out of town visitors on Thursday, July 28, his brother, Clem and wife Alice Nowakowski, from the north side of Chicago, and nephew, Robert, and wife Kay Nowakowski, of Indianapolis. The morning was spent visiting. Lunch was enjoyed at the Family Tree Restaurant, in Knox. The rest of the day was enjoyed at Amish Acres, Nappanee. Mrs. Pauline Klopfenstein returned recently from a trip to Denver, Colorado, where she attended the fourth bi-ennial Rocky Mountain U.S.S. Enterprise regional reunion. Guests represented Indiana, Louisiana, Washington. California. Kansas, Idaho, New Mexico, Wyoming and Colorado. A highlight of the trip was a bus trip to Heritage Square. Mrs. Mary Jean Beaty and her daughter. Mrs. Jean Cole, attended a bridal shower on Sunday afternoon, for Rhonda Butler, who will become the bride of Robert Cole, on August 27. The shower was held at the home of Laurie Corner, in Bremen. Hosts for the Koontz Lake Conservation Club dinner meeting on Saturday evening, will be Mr. and Mrs. Pete Thornburg. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Gillies and their two grandchilren, from Virginia. along with Mr. and Mrs. Greg Gillies and family, of Merrillville, spent last weekend in Ludington, Michigan, with relatives from Norway. A nice visit was enjoyed. Mr. and Mrs. Dirk Pletcher and family and Mr. and Mrs. William Albert and Michael, of North Liberty, took their vacation trip to Washington, D.C.. for three days last week.

Mr. and Mrs. Dale Ullery were in Dowagiac, Michigan, last Saturday as guests of Mr. and Mrs. Waldo Hoover. On Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Earl Wisler, of Hamlet, were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ullery. Mrs. Mary Cable, of the 76 Apartments, returned home after being on vacation for a month visiting with relatives and friends, in Johansburg, Little Rock, Arkansas, and in Tennessee. Mrs. Bertha Urbin spent Sunday at the home of her daughter. Dr. and Mrs. John Guttman, in Wakarusa. Afternoon callers were Mrs. Urbin’s granddaughter and greatgrandchildren, Mrs. Elizabeth Yoder, Jessica. Stephanie and Todd, of Elkhart. Mr. and Mrs. Leigh Roy Hahn spent the weekend camping at New Carlisle with the District 4 Volunteer Firemen during Historical Days. Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Knowlton were Mr. and Mrs. Carl Delaney, of Lafayette; Mrs. Doris Clark, of South Bend; Mr. and Mrs. David Drews and family, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Knowlton and sons and Mr. Dean Knowlton. Mr. and Mrs. Clell Fouts were Sunday afternoon callers of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Cole. Mrs. Cole had been a patient in the hospital recently. Many lovely and useful gifts were received. ATTENDS BAND CAMP Nathan Alan Davis, eighth grader at North Liberty Middle School, was among the 315 elementary and
high school students attending Purdue University’s 34th annual summer band camp June 19 - 25. Nathan is the son of Jim and Phyllis Davis, 68341 St. Rd. 23, North Liberty.
