The bride was given in marriage by her father, Lynn Brownlee. The double-ring ceremony was performed by Rev Arthur Heemer, on Saturday, June 18, at 2:00 p.m. Maid of honor was Edna Trent and best man was Charles Brownlee, brother of the bride. A dinner including a beautiful three-tiered wedding cake that was baked and decorated by Vickie Brownlee, was served immediately following the ceremony. Following the dinner the couple, along with 21 family members, visited with the mother of the bride, Jean Brownlee, on the patio of Michiana Community Hospital, South Bend, where she was a patient and unable to attend the ceremony. Following a weekend trip the couple are at home in Walkerton.

TRAIL CREEK SECTION TEMPORARILY CLOSED TO FISHING A section of Trail Creek in LaPorte County is closed to fishing as of Monday, August 1 to allow Department of Natural Resources biologists to collect adult steelhead trout, according to Jim Ridenour. DNR director. The closed section of Trail Creek includes the area from the DNR public access site south of U. S. 35 in Michigan City downstream to the Michigan Boulevard (U. S. 35) bridge over Trail Creek. The closure is scheduled to last until September 26, but may be lifted sooner if collection of the steelhead is completed early. Most property along the closed section of Trail Creek is owned by the Michigan City Fish and Game Club. The DNR leases the property for a token fee, enabling biologists to conduct the steelhead collection. Fish collected from Trail Creek will be taken to the Twin Branch State Fish Hatchery in Mishawaka to be used as broodstock. Eggs taken from the adults will produce young steelhead trout for stocking Trail Creek, the Little Calumet River and the St. Joseph River in 1990. This year's stocking of more than 400,000 Skamania, or summer run steelhead, into these streams, is the result of similar broodstock collection efforts at Trail Creek in 1986.
