Mrs. Violet Masterman returned home after spending a week each with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Shultz, in Chesterfield. Missouri, and then going on to Mr. and Mrs. Rex Mastermans and family, in Plano Texas. Thanksgiving guests of the Rex Masterman’s were Mr. and Mrs. Matt Millikan, of St. Louis; Chris Shultz, of Springfield, Missouri; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Shultz and Stacy, of Chesterfield. Missouri; Mrs. Violet Masterman and Richard Masterman, of Walkerton. Mrs. Paul Baughman, of Plymouth. was a luncheon guest of Mr. and Mrs. Orivlle Klinedinst, on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Pete Thornburg will serve as hosts for the Koontz Lake Conservation Club dinner meeting, on Saturday night. The dinner will be served at 6:00 p.m. E.S.T. Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Eli Sobat were their son, Dennis, of Merrillville; Mr. George Rogge, of Merrillville; and Mr. and Mrs. David Gawor, of Valparaiso and two friends, of Merrillville. A surprise birthday party was given on Saturday evening, in the home of Mrs. Doris O'Connel, at Koontz Lake, for Mrs. Carma Larson. who was celebrating her 80th birthday. There were 18 present for the buffet style dinner served to the members of the birthday club and their guests. Mrs. Larson was totally surprised. Mrs. Fran Sohn, of Koontz Lake, returned home last week after spending a week in Hobart, with her son and family, Mr. and Mrs. William Sohn. Mr. and Mrs. Roger Kelly and son. Mike, of LaPaz, returned home from a trip to Florida where they visited with friends and former neighbors. They were in Fort Myers. Fadler Beach, Zephyrhills and Lakeland visiting and sightseeing. Miss Ethel Bierly went to LaPorte on Monday, to attend her birthday club Christmas party with 12 members and two guests present. The Heim family Christmas dinner was held on Monday night, at Richards, in South Bend, with 49 present. Family members from Walkerton who attended were Mr. and Mrs. Doug Baker. Mrs. Vylet Baker. GOURMET CLUB GATHERS The November gathering of the Greater Walkerton Area Men's Gourmcnt Club was held November lb at the residence of Jim New. The menu theme was taken from old German recipes. Appetizers included a beef tartar with horseradish Bloody Marys. The main course included game hens stuffed with bread dressing, broccoli with hollandaise sauce, tossed salad with Russian/olive dressing and fresh Amish bread. Zeller Swartz Katz was chosen as the table wine. Dessert was boiled cherry dumplings served with cream and buttered croutons. The men cheered the Chicago Bears after the meal. Gub members in attendance included Roger Orcutt, John Froyck, Wayne McGee, John McGee, Rob Kaser, Dennis Jackson and Jim New. Jay Potts was out of tow non the night of the meeting, but had the meal a week earlier as a "sneak preview ".
