Callers to see Claude Shenenian, who returned home Tuesday, from St. Joseph Medical Center. South Bend, were Mr. and Mrs. Ray Stoneburner. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Schmeltz, Tim Hanley, of near Chicago, Lillian Kaser, of near LaPaz, and Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Pommert. Mr. and Mrs. Gary Nelson, Gladys Sheneman and Mildred Hunter accompanied the seven van loads of volunteers of Miller’s Merry Manor Nursing Home, last Tuesday evening, to the country home of Lewis and Fannie Yoder, east of Nappanee, about 2'6 miles, where 41 volunteers enjoyed a delicious ham and steak dinner served family style with lots of extras to go with it. Mary Jo Golubski. activities director, gave out several awards to new volunteers. She then thanked all the wonderful volunteers who have done such a great job and devoted so much of "their time to the residents at Miller’s. we do say "thanks” to those at the home who made this lovely evening of fellowship and a delicious dinner all possible. The Retired Neighbors and Friends will meet again, on Tuesday, December 1. at the Pine Creek Church for their Christmas dinner and program. You are invited to come between 11:30 a m. and 12:00 noon. The "Over The Hill Gang" of the Church of Christ, met last Thursday noon with a fellowship dinner m the Family Center. Entertainment was the Harris Prairie Senior Citizens of Granger and Pleasant View Church, of Cassopolis. Michigan. They then presented a musical entitled, "The Time Os My Life", which was really inspiring. Just want to put in a good word for our ambulance crew, who do such a wonderful service for our

community here in and around North Liberty. I had to call them for the first time, Saturday morning. to take my husband. Claude Sheneman. to the emergency room at St. Joseph Medical Center. They were here in a few minutes as he could not sit up. stand or walk, and it took four to get him off the bed and on to the cot. They were wonderful. I am so thankful for our ambluance crew and the service they give and I hope you are to and will tell them so. Do any of you remember back in the 50’s and 60’s when the Stewart Bakery Co., of Bremen, delivered bread to our area along with delicious rolls and other goodies? I he Jolly Fight Bunco Club met Wednesday afternoon in the home of Wanda Garrett with prizes going toi the following, first place. Betty Wharton; second, Cathy O'Blenis; most buncos, Wanda Garrett; and the boobie prize went to Iva Pommert. Lovely refreshments were served by the hostess. Claude Sheneman was taken back again to St. Joseph Medical Center on Saturday, by ambulance, where he is having more tests. A memorial service for Kenneth Reed was held Sunday afternoon, at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of Christ. Kenneth and his wife, Dorothy, were former residents of this area. Dorothy is now staving with her sister. Violet Baker, in Walkerton, for the present time. The congregation of the North Liberty United Methodist Church shared their talents during a brunch served by Rev. Conner s Sunday School class, on Sunday. November 21. Those sharing their talents included Julie Warner, vocal solo; Julia Camblin, vocal solo; Tracy Rininger, piano solo; Crossroads Men’s Quartet. Ike Dunnuck, Gaylord Saltzgaber.

Dave Craft, Byron Craft; Emily Craft and Pam Craft, flute and piano duet; Crossways Men's Quartet, Steve Conner, Rich Warner, John Camblin and Gene Bailey; a skit by Connie Rupel's adult class; a soliloquy by Rich Warner; songs by the primary Sunday School classes led by Betty Peddycord and Wendy Weber and Donna Wagner and a skit by Todd Burch's 4th, sth and 6th grade class. All of this talent resulted in many laughs and much applause and fine fellowship. North Liberty Chamber Plans Annual Meeting The North Liberty Chamber of Commerce annual dinner meeting will be held on December 7, at the North Liberty United Methodist Chruch. with dinner served at 7:00 p.m. Reservations and tickets must be obtained and are available at the Ist Source Bank, Craft’s Liberty Drugs or at Dr. Kerry Knape, DDS, office, by November 30. The 50th wedding anniversary of Robert and Doroths Knecht, of North Liberty, will be celebrated on Friday. November 27. with a famils dinner-reception, in South Bend, given by their children Robert Knecht and Dorothy Landon were born and raised in Hartford City. Indiana, and were married there on November 27, 1937. Their six childten are Jim Knecht, Apple Valley. Minnesota; Kathy Lehker, Walkersville. Maryland; Beth Norris and Bob Knecht.
